All jokes aside I believe the award was deserved.
MVP is a regular season award and Embiid played the best of anyone in the regular season. But that's what he's always going to be. A regular season player until proven otherwise.

MVP =/= best player in the world
:comeon:

Everyone going against jokic said he need to do something in the playoffs or he doesn’t deserve it. They all said regular season doesn’t count . Embid is looking funny in the light

Idk why the coli has to force the black nationalist facade to hold Embiid over Jokic. The white boy is just better at basketball than Embiid, it’s ok y’all

All the greatest players of all time are still nikkaz mane. Bird the only cac in the top 10, wtf y’all feel threatened about

Embiid is an all time great talent, but he is not that dude

nikkaz got hotep’d by Kendrick Perkins and looking goofy as fukk right now :mjcry:

Y'all fakkits were saying he didn't deserve to win in 2021 and 2022. Stop pretending like y'all only had an issue with him winning this season.

Y'all have been trying to discredit him every single step of the way.

And the funny thing is, he would've been a deserved winner again this season, but y'all were far too far caught up in y'all agendas to see and acknowledge that. This is a valuable lesson learned for next time, but I ain't holding my breath because whenever the groupthink of The Seum is concerned, y'all almost always put your chips on the wrong one.

He's just pointing out that people keep jumping between "regular season award" and "need to prove yourself in the playoffs" depending on their agenda.

I think there were perfectly good cases for Embiid and Jokic. People saying that Jokic didn't deserve it due to playoff problems, but Embiid did, were being rediculous. And that's even though I'm honestly glad Jokic didn't win whether or not he deserved it, because for Jokic to suddenly be the first guy not to suffer from voter fatigue would have been sketch. How many more MVPs would Wilt, Bron, and MJ have if "regular season award!" and "no voter fatigue!" were real things?

The real issue is that only one player wins MVP, even though there's no objective way to determine who the most valuable player is and multiple players deserve it in any given season. So, by default, there is often something a bit arbitrary in the final decision, and who has already won one is part of what comes into play.

The unfortunate thing is, Embiid was well-deserving on his own merits, but insufferable ass muh'fukkas turned the MVP race into something completely devoid of hoops, even Embiid, himself, made a mockery of the award pleading for his own case and shamelessly allowed the public to put the battery in his back to disrespect Jokic too.

This is why it makes this all-time playoff run by Jokic that much sweeter. The Basketball Gods took that shyt personally.

this is just for argument purposes at this point

jokic deserved the mvp this year, but its ofc easier to argue it as undisputable after the fact

imo, embiid shoulda won last year (even tho jokic still had an amazing season), so it balances out imo :manny:

moving forward tho, embiid deserves to be graded to a higher standard based on the mvp he won this year, and the criticisms that comes with it

but lets not pretend that outside of the mvp discourses this year, jokic was really penalized for nuggets past playoff results, even when they were fully healthy in the bubble

tho i think its fair to say Jokic is the best player in the league right now, embid dropping 47 pts on him head up doesnt change the overall body of work
