I put on this podcast and it went through like 5 ads

I fast forwarded them. I watched like 40 min and turned it off.

Now I'm trying to pick up where it left off and it's playing ads again in the background and I can't skip them

I actually debated not listening anymore because someone on this site said he made a comment about going to a black movie theater and it felt like he was in planet of the apes. But then I heard the actual quote and what he said was that he went to see planet of the apes at a black movie theater and found it more enjoyable because everyone was really into the movie, compared to a white theater where everyone is quiet and emotionless.

i dont understand why budden won't lean into guests more. he's really good with them and it would help distract from some of the shortcomings of the current setup (#1 being they are almost never equipped with facts when discussing... anything).
