Well if we're playing the swap game.. Give Ryan a defense that Baltimore had and he'd probably have 2 rings already.


Ryan has never had a great defense to save his ass. Ravens fans that like to bring up the Flacco vs Ryan comparison knows this as well.

I don't know why you have to remind Flacco fans that he played with HOF defensive players on that championship run and without them, he's been an average QB.

There's no way we make it back in 2012 if we win in 2011. Same as the spurs in 2013 and 2014, the loss was used as fuel. The 2012 team was running on fumes and hope all year long. Honestly, I'm not sure Ray even plays in 2012 if they won it in 2011.

After thinking about this thread... The only reason Flacco is thought of as elite is because he was being compared to the last Ravens franchise QB, Kyle Boller... And in giving Flacco credit its discrediting just how great our defense really was...Lewis Reed Pollard Ngata were ELITE players..Flacco was and will always be an average QB that was behind an all time great defense

As much as Flacco has pissed me off the last 2 years I'll still take him over Matt Ryan

Give me the qb who actually plays big in big games over the one who puts up crazy regular season stats in the regular season but always looks average in the playoffs

Matt Ryan has a better defense than Flacco had in 2012,better WRs,better running game,better OC,didnt have to play on the road,didn't have to play Dallas,play 2 injury riddled teams to get to the superbowl,etc

They had everything fall in line perfectly for them to get a ring and Matt still couldn't get it done

If you have that many things go right for you and you still can't get the job done then I don't want you as my qb

Without Ed and Ray they're below .500 in a 4 year span while going 10-22 on the road. Quality quarterbacks don't post road records like that.

And how many of those 22 losses did Flacco score late in the 4th to give us the lead only for the defense to let the other team march right down the field and win

Brady was terrified to step up in the pocket after this...and this one play was essentially as good as a game winning TD pass if you ask me

Ed Reed was the one who put fear in Bradys heart

I liked Pollard but he was nowhere near elite

I'm a Ravens fan, I slacked up on my Flacco stanship the last two years because he's just not consistent enough to flush the criticisms; but with that being said I'm still taking him over Matty. If I need my QB to win 1 game it's more than likely a playoff scenario so off that alone I gotta go with Joe.

Wasn't his team the #1 overall seed with home field throughout and his team was still 1 & done?

Matt is a poor mans Peyton Manning.Great in the regular season,choke artist in the playoffs

Keep praying though,maybe one day a defense will carry his sorry ass to a ring like the Colts and Broncos did Peyton but knowing Ryan he could have the 2000 Ravens defense and he'd still find a way to choke away the game

And Flacco only played with a great defense his first 3 seasons,our D hasn't been great in years

Our 2011 team that should've won it all and 2012 team that did win it all both had mediocre defenses so if Flacco can win a ring with a mediocre defense why does Matt need a better defense to win if he's supposed to be the better qb?
