This is just my opinion after watching these two avidly the last decade.
Say what you want but I can say after their roughly ten years in the league Joe Flacco is the better quarterback all around. He's a winner and a playmaker and more importantly wins when it counts in the playoffs or division games. Matt Ryan is excellent at putting up great numbers and winning regular season games but he's just too much of a choke artist when the time counts. Flacco has never had a true top five wide receiver in the league unlike matt ryan who has had julio arguably a top three since he's been in the league.
Matt ryan has choked so much in the playoffs it isn't even funny. The pressure of the big games just gets to him. He could never carry a team on his back like any of the great quarterbacks of this era. Flacco will be remembered as the best quarterback in the ravens modern era who gave greats like lewis, suggs, and ed reed a last chance to earn a victory together. The way flacco beat the ravens greatest enemies and rivals the patriots, the steelers and denver (IE peyton manning who knocked us out the PO's sooo many times) to get to the superbowl was awe inspiring and magical. Matt Ryan will go down in history as a good quarterback but someone who squandered many opportunities and offensive talent, he will be forgotten in 20 years.
If Flacco played for atlanta he would have been in at least 2 superbowls. Watching them play Matt Ryan is a better thrower, more accurate, can get numbers. But Flacco is the superior leader, can be trusted with a playoff game, a better game manager, and isn't a choke artist. Atlanta would likely be superbowl champions if they had put their backup QB in the fourth quarter.
At the end of the day whats the use of being thought of a better quarterback if you don't facilitate wins on your teams and you singlehandly threw away a superbowl.
By the numbers.
