I agree. But, they came from around my neighborhood. Even if I don't listen to them anymore, I respect the hustle they made. They've done far more than Budden did with a lot less talent and go a whole lot further than anyone expected them to.
As for improving their show, I think they peaked. They'll probably make random appearances in shows and movies and be invited to random events and shyt, barring nothing going south or them splitting.

Joe is a loser. I don’t mean that in the colloquial sense. I mean it in the sense that he’s someone that will take a winning hand and turn it into a L without fail, every time. In fact, a loser will self-sabotage if they even think they are going to win (see: Joe’s rap battle foray). Nobody expects anything from a loser, but winning creates expectations. You have to have a certain character to win consistently. The movie the Hustler has a great psychological breakdown of the mind of someone like Joe. Joe was always going to fukk this up, because that’s who he is.

As a fan of Joe Budden the entertainer and not Joe Budden the businessman or person I agree. Dude literally said Triller offered him so much money he was scared to take the deal. Ain’t shyt you can do for that nikka

bottomline the show sucks and is for white boys and teenagers. For a 40yr old man to be sitting with a CAC and an undercover gay dude discussing shade room topics is an embarrassment. All these real issues affecting the blck community and he’s talking about Meghan and Irrelevant artists or social media personalities fukking each other. Mever found the appeal of hip hop podcast for the most part, unless it's some old rappers telling some stories I found it boring.

I used to watch religiously. The appeal to me was it was how me and my buls talk with each other about everything. But once they actually got signed to Spotify, I couldn't listen to them ramble twice a week about shyt that was non stories and watch them protect their industry relationships. I think one of the final straws for me was the Drake dikk riding around the Pusha T diss. Listening to them struggle through deeper topics is rough too. They basically spread themselves too thin.

And if they turned down 30 mil when they talk about bullshyt 90 percent of the pod is absurd. Time-sensitive bullshyt at that...I don't know how accurate that number is, but who gives a fukk if its a 360...you negotiate that it's a 360 for the term of the contract and part ways at term. Like yo...there's network TV shows that get 30 million...and there's virtually no overhead or marketing needed for a podcast. I'm legit dumbfounded if this is true.

I say this as a fan for the last 20 years, but this dude is a true nut if he turned down 30 mil for what they do. I'd be pissed if I was Rory and Mal. The show is called Joe Budden Podcast, they helped build his brand up and can't carry that with them elsewhere. Joe is set for life. He may not have fukk You money, but he can go on cruise control. Rory and Mal still have to scrap.

but I read it anyway and agree the 2x a week format watered down the content drastically...I also watched it for the same reasons...listening to them shoot the shyt was funny and reminiscent of me hanging out with my cousins...for me it was a funny, entertaining show not to be taken seriously...it was like a “live action” version of thecoli for lack of a better comparison...didn’t realize how funny joe was

I said it earlier. Desus and Mero's pod is fukking TERRIBLE now (shyt, since 2018), and their show on Showtime is completely unfunny but they're everywhere in the city. You can't cross any big metro area without seeing their name or faces on something.
Joe has no idea what the fukk he's doing, but wants to act like he is. Joe's pod went from having their name up in Times Square to fukking Patreon in two years.

Meanwhile, Desus and Mero interviewed Obama, this past year. Mind you, these guys came up from literally nothing--Twitter posters, to some MTV 2 show that two people watched, to Complex, to their own pod, to a show on Viceland to Showtime, to being invited on different shows, to being involved with movies and shows.They always move upward.

Joe, always has something good and then fumbles it while blaming everyone else or using vague cliches like, "Creators, b-but equity" It's all bullshyt. He wants to be a boss without knowing anything about it.

Podcasts can only last so long Maybe they’ll still be around but they have some work to do to get that swag back. Shot got annoying at times man. Half talking about shyt with zero research, Maga Mal, talking about artists like Partynextdoor, calling Safaree for no reason, that episode with Justice etc. you better know what you’re doing if you’re going to turn down money and do it yourself. The podcast thing is not like music lol. I have never been like man episode 230 was kinda lit, let me gone back and listen to it I think they’ll come back and it’ll be all love.. People will be mad but it is what it is. This is the vehicle that’s keeping Rory and Mal’s name out here. Imagine them two with their own pod. I mean they had a chance to give us a taste of that and well... it wasn’t good.
