I just don’t see where KLB causes excitement in the campaign. She has done really well on TV related to COVID-19 but part of that is that she being presented as the counter to Kemp so there is a narrative there. I don’t see how that translates to national politics. At the same time the limits off being only a mayor are on fully display right now. She’s essentially been sidelined and out ranked by the Mayor so she’s been reduced to the sidelines from a political action perspective.

In fairness I don’t know that any of the choices cause visible excitement outside of Liz. She’s about the only one with energy, a brand (some good and some bad) and the ability to speak to policy with energy.
I thought she was Biden best surrogate during the primaries, not just during this covid crisis. I dislike Biden, so I hated when she was on TV because I knew was was going to do a good job. I think she will generate excitement because she is not well known but she seem competent. IMO people will research her and a buzz will be created. I think looks will play a part as well. Palin created a major buzz for McCain. Part of the reason is because white men found her attractive. She just turned out to be dumb as shyt. KLB is sharp so I don’t think she will go the Palin route.

As for as being sidelined any senator would also fall into this category as well, because the Republicans control the senate. Like I said before KLB is not my top choice, but I think she is a better pick than Kamala, Abrams, or Klobuchar. She have the potential to have more of an impact than Liz. Also, she is 20 years younger than Liz. I think she would be in a better position to run in 2024.

:ohhh: How could it be that you explained my position on KLB so perfectly? We aren’t supposed to agree on anything :mjlol:

Can't say I agree but also wont say you are wrong. I just don't see where a first term mayor of a southern city gets much of anyone excited to move the needle. Palin generated buzz for all of the wrong reasons. I agree she was an early and good surrogate for Biden but I don't see how her background leads to excitement with key groups or overall. Same with 2024, mayor to president seems like a leap. On experience alone I couldn't put her above three US Senators even if they have downsides. I just don't see how running anyone along side a 77 year old candidate that hasn't held a statewide office is going to fly.

Just my $0.02 so again I won't say you are wrong.

Is your boosting KLB just based on winning the election or is she someone you would actually like to see in the White House with Biden? Because while I can see an argument for the benefits she brings to the Biden ticket, I really don't know what benefit she brings to the Biden administration. She has no national profile or power base, ergo no DC relationships to utilize in pushing through policy. She doesn't seem to be a committed ideologue, so I don't know what guiding direction she would provide to the Biden administration. Like, what good things could we reasonably expect from VP KLB? Hell, there's a fairly good chance she may become President over the next 4 years, what would her administration look like?

Nothing wrong with that. I never mind when people disagree with me as long as they are making valid points.:salute:my dude

It based off of the serious names that have been mentioned. My top choices for VP are Tammy Duckworth, Ayanna Pressley, and Tammy Baldwin. It not so much I love KLB. It more that I dislike Kamala and Klobuchar. Not only do I dislike them I don’t think they bring much to the ticket. I don’t dislike Abrams but I don’t think she would be a good choice as VP. I wish she would of ran for senate. So out of all the serious names that been mentioned KLB have the most upside imo. To answer your question it is more for election purposes. Being a mayor she haven’t had to go on record with a lot of positions, so I don’t know were she stand on most issues. I do know she is decent to good on criminal justice. That alone make her better than Kamala or Klobuchar.

The way shes been involved in the campaign..how biden seems to like her..perceived midwest swing state appeal..not too different on policy :yeshrug:
None of that equals "leader in the clubhouse" :mjlol:.

Also, Amy Klobuchar wouldn't do anything to help Biden in other Midwestern states. Furthermore, Biden is already going to win Minnesota (the latest poll from Minnesota shows Biden up 54-39 over Trump).

Amy Klobuchar can sit her bland self somewhere else :mjlol:.
