I don't think that Biden has "boxed himself in".

There are many qualified women to be VP and it's long overdue for a female VP or POTUS .

We're the Democratic Party not the Republican Party. Symbolism matters whether it's "pandering" or not.

President Obama just by being in office inspired a whole bunch of young Black men to want to achieve greater things in life and to strive for higher goals (myself included) .

A female VP would inspire a whole bunch of young women/girls and that's a very powerful thing. Especially since this year is the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage .

Obama didn't just win because he was black though, he was from the Midwest and able to talk to normal people in Iowa. Other than Biden (ironically), no one can really do that.

None of the choices are good either.

He's going to pick Amy or a guy.
