Val is not a Tier 1 prospect, I love a strong black woman with a family that I can relate to like the next breh, but you all keep ignoring that the VP pick is always to appease the 'establishment' portion of the party.

i cant lie, ive actually warmed to the idea of kamala as VP :dead: a lot

she wasnt a great candidate, but she's a perfect VP. and the credibility she gains as VP can set her up nicely for that 2024 run

because i sure as fukk didnt see anyone else on that democrat bench in the debates :yeshrug: bernie and warren arent around in 2024. the bench is utter trash

and i could see kamala and a young white guy from florida or ohio cleaning up a 2024 election if MAGA is still in tatters and divided

If she was honest about her record and stood by her convictions on policy, she’d have done better in the primary and be seen more positively by me.

She has been a better US Senator than she was top prosecutor.

100%

She tried to be perfect and danced around the criticisms of her rather than address them head on. She also just seems like a try hard. Idk. I understand the appeal and it's not gonna stop me from voting biden but I just flat out dont like her :yeshrug:

That’s an interesting stance. Do we really need to “like her”? That’s rhetorical.

Rhetorical but I'll answer anyway.

Probably not, no. Not for her as VP. She would have at least a few years to warm herself up to the public if she were to carry the mantle in 2024.
I mean I don’t get warm and fuzzy from her. She’s at her best taking people to task and probably hasn’t found how to not be in that mode and it come across authentic.

I agree :manny:

I dont get any sense of compassion from her whatsoever. She can vote "correctly" all she wants and say all the right things but I simply dont buy it as being genuine. Does it matter if the results are good? No. But I'm not gonna say you know..I like Kamala. Shes a good person :manny:

Kamala isn't the worst pick, but she's not bringing anyone in that Joe isn't bringing and she doesn't unify the party. Plus she has a likability problem, I think a lot of people don't view her as genuine. You also can't sleep on her prosecutor career, the left and BLM are going to keep bringing it up. In a way @Warren Moon is right, it's going to be hard to have had a career locking black men up all while married married to a white dude and now seek the support of black voters in a time when criminal justice is a hot issue.

That's why I say go with Karen Bass. Black, progressive, experienced, respected, unifies the party, no law enforcement baggage, serous criminal justice reform credentials, doesn't overshadow Biden, isn't polarizing, and doesn't have major enemies
