I think this is def true. Historically VP picks don't really move the needle that much.

Charlotte is a bigger city in a swing state, currently has a black mayor, and the state also has a democratic governor.

No rational person is suggesting we should elevate Vi Lyles to VP because it would swing the election because it's an absurd proposition.

The VP pick should be someone who is competent and we believe can handle the job of POTUS and win an election.

Also Elizabeth Warren is bringing in more voters than a Kamala pick would bring. Anyone voting for Biden/Kamala was already going to vote for Biden regardless of his VP. Warren brings in progressive voters who were on the fence of either staying home or voting for Biden.
