Messaging is important. Biden struggles with putting out a clear message. KLB is the best out of the top contenders when it comes to communicating on camera.

Slight disagreement there. KLB has done well communicating on COVID-19 and the George Floyd situation (some would argue that she hasn’t done so well on the latter) through compassion, preparedness and empathy. Biden doesn’t struggle on those fronts. The flip side is how would she do discussing a policy foreign or domestic in a speech or debate against Pence. She would essentially have to start being engaged in those exercises starting Aug. 1. I think it’s fair to ask if she’s there yet.

Your point about foreign policy is fair. She never had to engage in that discussion. But at the same time most governors have limited experience in foreign policy as well.

Also the other top candidates are not known as foreign policy experts. I was a Warren supporter but even during the primaries I admitted that FP was her weakness. Although Kamala time as a DA and AG is a personal disqualification for me, I think she been a fairly good senator in her short time in the senate. Especially during judicial hearings and questioning Trump Appointees. She also supported and introduced some good legislation. The latest is her support of a $2,000 a month UBI to help families during this covid pandemic. She even supported a low level UBI type of tax credit before she announced her presidential run. However, when it comes to FP she tends to stay away from it and make general statements. I am betting that KLB have been study and can at least not embarrass herself when discussing FP.

Not really sure why folks here keep saying KLB. She's a mayor who really didn't crush her own race (in ATL), who's never held state wide or federal office, for a potential president with at an advanced age. :francis: Unless y'all got some polling where she's bringing the wolves out I don't see it.

The most obvious choice (considering biden is cornered into having a woman vp), is Warren IMO. Polls well, doesn't have the potential Law enforcement baggage of Harris and Demings and is in a state where dems should win with her replacement. Not to mention is a current senator who as a VP vote knows how to navigate that arena.

I prefer her to be a senator but we have what we have.

There’s no way he’ll pick KLB.

Like prior posters have mentioned with Biden being so old you cant take a chance on someone who hasn’t a major office which removed KLB and Abrams. The ads would write themselves about what would happen if they had to become president.

It’s Kamala or Warren

I just assume anyone saying KLB just likes her and that all the justification they need. I guess that fine but figured HL would be more in depth than that.

How was her record prior to last 3 months? Curious to know how she was doing since she's only been mayor for what 2 years?

Does she have many accomplishments in those years or is her support for VP primarily from the press shes getting now

I think she’s generally done fine. The reality is that COVID-19 and the Protest have been her biggest crisis moments to date to the general electorate.

She’s been an early supporter of Biden like even when his campaign was floundering so to some degree they owe her the consideration. She’s an establishment Dem and city of Atlanta politician so she’s aligned herself correctly. I just don’t see the leap from 2nd term mayor up to VP. She could absolutely turn this to a run for governor. when Kemp is up IMO.
