I mean that’s just a terry cloth reasoning. She’s from those areas but in reality she not terribly popular or known and not very charismatic. That’s further complicated by the fact she may not get the best forums to tell her story.
i dont know if i agree. all that "im the daughter of a miner" shyt she was talking about in the debates, probably plays pretty well in the states biden needs to win

i dont think shes gods gift to the VP position, but i dont think shes a disaster like dudes are sayin. and again, kamala is still my first pick

Ok so here is the other shoe. 4 years from now if Biden is “stepping down” you think Amy is going to get elected to replace him? That daughter of a miner shyt don’t mean shyt to the majority of America.

This stinks of a Kaine pick and trying to play it safe when Biden is already the “safe vote”

There's no evidence Klobuchar can get these voters outside of Minnesota and also no evidence that a lot these white voters are ditching Trump. Plus Biden should already be getting these voters. The best strategy for Biden is maximizing minority turnout, which is why I think a black VP is the best choice.
Apart from Michelle Obama, who is obviously not in the running, what black woman could Biden pick that would juice his black turnout? Dude just won the primary on the back of the black vote, beating out the 2 most prominent black active politicians in the process. shyt, there's a better argument for Kamala needing to add Biden to her ticket to juice her black support than the other way around. Biden has more black support than any of these VP names people are throwing out, so I'm not sure where this idea that the black community is a weak spot he must address with the VP pick is coming from.

Its enthusiasm and turnout. He needs max turnout from Blacks in places like Michigan, Florida and Wisconsin.

Biden won the black vote largely because voters felt they needed an old safe white guy at the top of the ticket to beat Trump, it was a strategic vote for a lot of people. Also just winning the black vote in the primaries doesn't mean the black turnout will be high in the general election, just look at Hillary. A lot of black people (and other minorities) will come out to vote for a qualified black woman on the ticket on some "I'm rooting for everybody black" type of shyt.

maybe he wants to double down on his strategy to get them.

she polls excellent in the Midwest. But I do believe a black Vp would be great.

Keisha or Val are my top 2 choices

Sure, but where is the polling/proof showing that Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams or Val Demings are more popular amongst the black electorate than Joe Biden? He beat Harris amongst black voters in the primary, Demings is pretty much unknown, and I think reporting has shown that Abrams is unpopular amongst the black political establishment. I could see this argument being used in support of picking Michelle Obama, but there is no other golden bullet black woman out there.

Biden won the black vote largely because voters felt they needed an old safe white guy at the top of the ticket to beat Trump, it was a strategic vote for a lot of people. The turnout point is correct, but which black female politician has shown they can juice turnout beyond what Biden can do on his own? You yourself just said the black vote strategically picked Biden because they think he's the best chance to beat Trump, so I'm not exactly seeing where the reservations about Biden would be coming from now that he's won the nomination. I could see the anxiety coming from the fact that the Clintons ran deep with the Black community but Hillary wasn't able to get the turnout she needed, but Biden is already shoring up Hillary's soft spots - namely WWC men and suburban women - that I don't see the Black community as his most unstable constituency. He literally just won the nomination on the back of the black vote. I agree with Clyburn, a black woman is not a must for Biden.

Val Demings, Karen Bass, Terri Sewell
All unknowns.
