Interesting that there is a Politico article on Demmings being in the running. I would imagine it’s being floated by the campaign.

No disrespect,
But this whole post just reads as one large excuse for her record. I’m consistent with my standards. Why would I criticize Biden for the 94 crime bill and give Kamala a pass? I don’t want a ticket were both the Presidential and VP nominee have poor criminal justice record. These decisions ruined lives. And I don’t even hate Kamala, I just don’t want her as VP. To my surprise I think she has been a fairly good senator.

Val Demings was police and Bernie voted for the Crime Bill are we putting them in the wood chipper too?

A second term senator does not have a lot of baggage. No prosector or attorney general, serving at the highest level of law enforcement has a "good record" per these people's standards. Eric Holder doesn't. Neither does Loretta Lynch. Both are highly qualified individuals, but have imperfect, even glaringly flawed records. What is this world people live in? Tulsi Gabbard took cheap twitter sound bite shots an an accomplished career woman, a woman who hasn't done much of anything, ever.
Bro, I get that your Kamala’s biggest fan but people on the left and black folk don’t fukk with her like that. It’s not really worth elaborating on beyond what @A.R.$ said. And you’re strangely acknowledging that that people have fukked up records but then wondering why people have an issue as if there are not people without those records. This idea of “accomplished” even if what you were successful at was being really awful is some weirdo shyt only centrist Dems abide by. By your logic every single Republican candidate for president besides Trump was “qualified” and “deserving.” We live in a world where we have done a 180 on criminal justice and you’re going to have to deal with that. The entire discussion Biden is having right now post—COVID is about enacting left platforms. There’s an entire nY Times article on it today. Kamala Harris would be credible on social issues but would not be as credible on criminal justice. And how on earth did you mention Eric Holder? Eric Holder went to work for the public integrity section of the DOJ after law school, was a judge, and briefly a US Attorney before being Deputy AG. He doesn’t have anything remotely close to a trash ass prosecutorial record.

Respectfully, I think your views on this are really without nuance, and entirely constrained. There were scandals and appalling prosecutions under Holder, as AG, and US Attorney, it's not avoidable. I don't think they affect who he is, no more than Kamala. I don't think you really respect or understand any prosecutors. If we are doing a 180 on criminal justice, which we really aren't, why cant' she change as well? Do you really think she wants to prosecute low level marijuana offenses as policy now? Let me ask this, who would you choose for Attorney General? And do you follow the DA's office or US Attorney in your city?

This is a deflection.

First,
I don’t want Bernie or Val Demings to be VP. So I’m not sure how that relate to anything I’m saying.

But to answer your question I was highly critical of Bernie crime bill vote. As far as Val Demings I know next to nothing about her. I only heard of her about a month in a half ago.

But being a police officer or a prosecutor is not an automatic disqualification. There are actually a few progressive DAs out there. We desperately need police reform and most of these police departments are corrupt as shyt. However, it doesn’t mean that every individual police officer is bad. I personally know a few cool police officer that let people slide on minor offenses. I judge each person on their record. And no matter how much people want to sweep it under the rug Kamala record on criminal justice is bad.
