I haven't read anything hateful or racist only concern.
Why dnt you ask ''some" Mexicans why they hate indigenous Americans. you should see how the morenos are treated. Pinche pisa indios was a common slur I heard.
Or a wedo saying "ewww he/she dark must be a farmer"

I used to hang out with these Colombian kids that had this one (indian looking) friend they called "Apocalypto"
it's true that 'latinos' have their own issues to deal with. but I'm not sure how much progress can be made when people seem so unwilling to give anyone a chance. in fact, people seem to love to pour gas on the fire. it's like people take comfort in inequality, and really fear the idea of a 'post-racial' society

Its because of the track record and the fact that they haven't addressed this issue within their own community. there are gangs in la killing black civilians for no reason. Literally on some kkk style shyt and nobody is addressing it. when we were the majority our gangs never targetted them like that. ever! We never tried to eradicate them from the neighborhood. blacks are more concerned with the system and other blacks.
People from Texas and cali are just concerned that's all. but hey for all we know there's a third gen latino out there that will form unity as a poltician. that would be cool. we included them in our civil rights movement maybe they will include us in theirs? Blacks need just one Latin leader to assure us he will support and work with us and we'd probably be on board in an instant.
Hasnt happened yet.
So my message to blacks would be get off your ass because the system won't be able to support this new massive minority AND you. Same goes for the drug trade. better do like the Asians and make sure your future child is focused in school.
progress has to start with you. waiting for other people to get on board is just an excuse to do nothing

Breh , you Dominican right, I might be wrong, but you are off some visible Afro descent, right? What I find is that the general latin population who have control, does everything to exclude your, and any other Latino that doesn't fit, what they want.
Anytime I see anything Latino I don't see anyone of visible African descent, except for Baseball or Soccer, where they have no choice.
Every movie, TV show that depicts the Latino story, is the typical White and Light Skinned Mestizo fest.
Your Latinos of Afro descent, whether full or partial or whatever, need to start doing your thing, cause your gonna get lost, and purposely pushed aside. Your history and culture ain't the same as them other Latinos.
And if your don't start asserting that, it's gonna get lost and overlooked even more, than it's already has.
I am Dominican and yes of visibly Afro descent, i have traveled to many Latin american countries and have really never experienced the same type of racial hate i have from whites here....
i think your argument of not seeing anyone of Afro descent being "visible" or in the forefront can be said for any population, EVERYWHERE in the world where they has been "white" and "non-white" people there has existed some form of racial discrimination.
KEEP IN MIND THOUGH , am not saying this to justify racial discrimination in Latin america AT ALL but I think a lot people here don't fully understand that the type of racial divide that exist here in America between whites and non whites is completely different than what happens in Latin american countries , here in Ameirca its alot more sytematic , diliberate and ingrained into the culutre,and of course its going to seem worse in latin ameirca because of the economic situation of many of those countries
If there is one race that discriminates against the Mexicans the most where I'm from it's the black people in this area. Most of the pisas around here keep to themselves. Granted a lot of them I know don't really trust black people. I've heard lots of racist comments from Mexicans as well. The white people here are a little more subtle with there racism towards Mexicans but they're still racists. Beck even the Hmongs here are racist towards mexicans. Fresno is one of the more diverse areas in the nation and racism comes from all angles. My dad used to hate black people with a passion till I started bringing my black friends around and then he changed his opinion on them. He now understands that it's not race that makes you ignorant.
