looks like his handlers walked this one back pretty quickly
Following Biden’s comments, White House officials quickly clarified to news organizations that Biden was just underlining the existing U.S. commitment to continue supplying arms to Taiwan so it can defend itself but that the U.S. would not send troops (which is also how the U.S. has handled Ukraine). No, there hasn’t been a policy change, in other words.

Sounds like he trying to get them other Asian countries under the Anglo Saxon umbrella
Anglo Saxon? That's British.

Anyways, many Asian countries are already under America's umbrella.

Taiwan is too economically and geopolitically important for America to allow China get control of. Taiwan produces almost 90% of the world's semiconductor chips (which is used in electronic devices like smartphones, TVs, video game consoles, etc).

America isn't going to let China have control over all of that lol.

Anglo Saxon is British American Australian, isn’t most of Taiwan economy already Chinese based so in a way China already controls them, that speech is to give assurances to the other Asian countries

during WW2 the U.S. described Taiwan as an unsinkable aircraft carrier.
they decided to invade the Philippines instead because an amphibious invasion of Taiwan would is a terrible idea.

that was after WWII that Gen MacArthur called Taiwan an unsinkable aircraft carrier and that was in a message to Pres. Truman that he shouldn't allow China (or any adversary) to get control of Taiwan because of the island's strategic location off the coast of China. The unsinkable aircraft carrier characterization of the island is due to how it would be used as a base of operations if a conflict with China ensued (this is back in 1950).

Also, Biden's speech was to assure Taiwan AND other Asian countries (particularly Japan & South Korea).

Your not wrong but thats not the way the Russians and Chinese use that term. They drop the word Anglo-Saxon as a slight insult to the alliance between the US/UK/Canada/Australia. Those four countries are always in lockstep in foreign policy compared to countries like France and Germany who are a little more independent minded, and theyre all descended from actual Anglo-Saxons. Whenever America has beef, the other 3 aint far behind regardless who it is.

I think "the West" is the most common/widely used term.

I've never heard "Anglo-Saxon" used in this context.
