You're working on a few assumptions. You're assuming Biden won't run for a second term. You're also assuming that if Biden isn't fit to run for a second term that he'll finish his first. You're also assuming that Biden's vice president wouldn't be the presumptive nominee if Biden didn't run for a second term.

All of that would have to be true to get a progressive candidate in 2024 instead of 2028 or 2032 if Biden wins. I'm not rooting for Trump and I'm not banking on some future progressive candidate that doesn't currently exist. If there was such a candidate in the future, why should I believe that the party establishment and the mainstream media would treat them any better than they did Bernie?
why are you wasting so much energy on all these words?

The dems are screwed if this thing has legs. There's no other candidate that appeals to both whites and blacks. :snoop: Whites hate bernie and blacks don't like Pete and Amy. The working class wing is cold on Warren.

That's why Medicare for all has a transitional period that takes care of those people. This country is fukked because we prop up industries that shouldn't exist in the name of jobs because we outsourced the actual manufacturing jobs that we used to have in this country. Trump ran on saving coal jobs and is looking to bailout oil companies. Both of which should fail as we move to take the lead on renewable energy technologies. It would not only help with climate change but make us energy independent and allow us to sever our relationship with Saudi Arabia and get out of these bullshyt wars. We should also focus on manufacturing necessities here to prevent the shortages we're seeing now due to disruption in the supply chain.
I don't disagree with any of that. But good luck seeing that if Trump is re-elected.

The idea that manufacturing returns to the US is laughable. Whether it's Trump or Bernie it's delusion. You cannot compete with workers who are making a dollar or less an hour in China and Mexico.

Bernie had a plan that would not allow companies that outsourced to receive contracts from the federal government. It could be done via executive order and could incentivize companies to bring the manufacturing back, if the contracts they lose out on would net them significantly more than the cost of manufacturing in the U.S.

The Supreme Court would knock it down swiftly lmao. Good luck with that. Bernie also wanted to raise taxes and regulations on those same companies while raising the minimum wage to $15, meaning it's unlikely the net gain/loss would even justify a company coming back.

Our economy is set up in such a way that we simply cannot compete with countries that pay slave wages and offer massive tax breaks to corporations.

you do realize if he did it via executive order, the next Republican President would just undo it as his first official act?
