The so called "Men" in the movie provided nothing materially other than for the women to get a nut off. Taraji's character worked * only her and her friend was the only one's with a job everyone else seemed to get a county check*

Where the film falls short to me is the message it’s trying to convey is, being a man is more than just being able to get women so the movie should’ve been longer and It should’ve showed Jody improving in life instead just being in healthier relationship with Yvette and that he built a bond with Melvin
Yeah I think Tyrese was miscast here, IMO. Jody was supposed to be 20 in Baby Boy, even though Tyrese was only like 22 or 23 when the movie came out he looked much older.
