Jimmy Butler traded to Philly for Robert Covington and Dario Saric. Jimmy plans to re-sign.

Where will Jimmy land?

As a raptor fan i like the idea of Butler going to Miami,it basically neutralizes his value....

I don’t think you’re going anywhere with Butler as your best player but depending on who they give up it does make the Heat firmly a playoff team for the next few years but nothing more then a 6-8 seed.

Suns would have to be kinda happy about this because this will probably ensure that the unprotected Heat pick in 21‘ they gave to Philly won’t be a high lotto pick at least

Adding Jimmy makes the Heat a potential top 4 seed, not a 6-8 seed. They were already that without him.

They didn’t make the playoffs last year

Yes they did, they were the 6th seed and lost to Philly in the 1st round.

And if by last year you're referring to 2016-17, they had the same record with Chicago for the 8th seed and lost the tiebreaker.

So like I said, they were already a 6-8 seed without Jimmy

My mistake.

I still think top 4 seed is a little much

I don’t think Butler moves the needle all that much

I think they can compete for it. Philly, Boston & Toronto are basically locked in at the top, last spot is between Indiana, Milwaukee, Washington. Don't think it's unreasonable for Miami w/Butler to be able to compete with them
