Jimmy Butler traded to Philly for Robert Covington and Dario Saric. Jimmy plans to re-sign.

Where will Jimmy land?

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
The problem with this is Butler needs the ball in his hands to be effective, whereas Covington didn't, which would be fine if the 76ers needed someone to handle the ball/run the offense, but how's he gonna fit in with Fultz and Simmons.....

They basically have to trade fultz by the deadline imo now

Hello btw

They're not overrated in the context of what Philly needs in order to be effective on offense. Ben and Fultz need players around them who're effective without the ball, Butler while a great piece as a standalone - isn't.
Dario was at his best when he had the ball in his hands in '16....
Cov u dont want to have the ball more than 2 seconds :russ:

IDK what to feel about this trade to be honest, people are happy we got Jimmy but in reality our spacing and depth are both fukked now with losing two key guys in Saric and Cov. The team is just not well constructed as it is right now.

What's the point in trading him when they've invested a lot of resources in his development, and his trade value is at rock bottom? There's absolutely no point in trading him.
That's why until then you let him run the point on backup lineups and try to make him look as best as possible. He needs to return some shooters and open up playing time for Shamet. If you can flip him for a stretch 4 and shooting guard then you have to do it. Let's say they can somehow get Wayne Ellington and Olynx for some combination of Fultz and a pick. I think you have to do it.

Because 1) jimmy gonna tear him apart and he’s already proven to be mentality weak

2) only so much ball to go around with butler embiid and Simmons all ball dominant

3) this is a win now move and this plan of starting fultz the first half but not second half along with his overall play is more long term approach which no longer fits

Have a good night

His value is only going to decrease with this roster.. he’s not in an environment conducive to his playing style and it’s become apparent that he isn’t going to be an effective player for a team with playoff aspirations any time soon.
