He’s talking about the cloud. He is saying similar things to Phil Spencer and Microsoft ‘3 billion gamers’ nonsense. Its probably a 5-10 year outlook statement more than anything else.

Selling games on PS + PC isn't going to reach 10s of millions of players/large audience he wants. PC hardware is still a major barrier to entry.

Everyone sees the cloud as the future and the cheapest way with the biggest potential return if done right. Everyone wants to be Netflix.

That said, its probably a long time before this happens. Sony is focused on PS5 and PSVR2 for now, they probably don’t have the bandwidth/resources to do anything more at this time. I mean, look at how slowly they are porting their 1st party games to PC. Its clear that expanding beyond the console isn’t a priority at the moment.

• Gamepass as a service is extremely expensive to run and Microsoft with their deep pockets are the only publishers in gaming who currently run such a service. No one else does. Sony can’t afford to run a gamepass service
• And lol @ Xbox path was the right call. They’re currently trailing in last place in the console race and Sony is already outselling them 2:1 even this early in the console race and already pulling ahead. Gamepass was always the plan since forever but last gen in particular they wanted to do this. You know right after dominating during the 360 era. The shyt games is your version of reality but Halo infinite is better than anything on PlayStation and Sony does make money off some of it's games, but returnal isn't sea of thieves.

Finally you talk about consoles sold but you're lying about series s availability which means you're mad there too

Now as far as Xbox goes, they selling fastest than ever but that's not fast enough for Gizmo and they not making as much off hardware because 12tf cost a lot more than 9.3teraflops, we still have our original heat sinks as well. We have more studios making games than anyone else, and we have an actual cloud infrastructure that only cost around the total price of Sony worth but it's ok. it's for us the gamers so I don't need to lie about how much they making off it. I'd rather focus on us benefiting from their investments

The xbox fans on the forum and have been telling yall sony stans for years that Sony is going to follow suit because that's where the future is headed and yall and keekee'd about how games there 1st party games wouldn't be coming to PC and how cloud gaming and other things wouldn't be a focal point for sony.

While Xbox, has been doubling down on cloud gaming, processing and a robust subscription service, and building partners and growing there 1st party.


Becoming a major player in the gaming industry isn't something any company can just do, you have to be established and already have bank to roll any kind of long term success. But I guess yall forgot that sony took the industry by storm because they A) had money and B) had new tech and was the leader and creator of that tech back when jump shipped from partnering with nintendo.
