If that many wrestlers were involved, it's just surprising to me that this was kept quiet for this long. Especially considering how predatory it is.
This sounds bad, bruh.
I mean, at least the shyt he did with the banana wasn't predatory.
I can think of a couple of reasons why (besides some of the obvious such as shame, the need to distance oneself from the event and process it, not wanting to deal with the fallout of your claim going under scrutiny, etc.). A lot of the behaviors are normalized, and are used as punchlines to jokes as opposed to indicators of systemic problems in the business. There are about 8 million jokes about possible sexual practices in Titan Towers, but we don't really discuss them in terms of sexual harassment and an unsafe work environment. They're punchlines. Same for all the stories of sexual deviancy in the business. Ribs, quirky, but not seen as the crimes they may be (see that Michael Elgin video I posted in another thread recently. Elgin clearly thinks it's the funniest shyt ever while Steen/Owens is vaguely horrified).
Also, if you're a large, strong-ass man, you're not always going to think of a situation like "get invited to fukk my booker's obese goth wife in front of him" as anything other than bizarre, as opposed to a quid pro quo situation, most likely because you don't always feel
physically restrained by it. It takes time for that realization to hit for some people.
There are probably others I'm not thinking of, but those are two that immediately come to mind.
And by the way, Cornette probably wouldn't be in the top 25 deviants in the business if this were happening in, like, 1988. Think about THAT shyt.
