the ones with mental issues, drug addiction, and general antisocial/violent behavior are the majority of chronically homeless tho. the down on their luck, priced out homeless person is not as common on the street, they utilize resources, they go back and forth between being able to care for themselves and being on the street. if we're to solve the homeless crisis as in getting the people you see living on the streets longterm into housing, it has to be a system that's set up for, and fully funded, to support those with issues, and that's a lot of money cities don't have and that the federal government doesn't want to fundThe vast majority of the homeless have no problem with these solutions and utilize them.
The media is concentrating on a very small minority and making them the face of homelessness even though they're the ones with mental issues that require more specialized care.
