Glenn is a former Jet, so I want this to work. He'll definitely be better than Saleh, who never should have been anything more than a DC. He was a horrible HC who never held the players accountable, always had them so undisciplined.

I look forward to seeing what the coaching staff will be. And I'm also praying he has the balls to stand up to ownership. That's my only concern. The reason I wanted Mike Vrabel or Brian Flores is because I knew if push came to shove they would tell Woody to fukk off. I'm hoping Glenn isn't a yes man like Saleh.
The ST should at least be better, rumor is he's talking Westhoff out of retirement

i don't think the jets are as bad as people are saying.... imagine what glenn can do with that defensive roster after what he did with detroit. if the jets draft graham for interior DL help, add a couple of DBs and improve the OL then they can be a competitive team.
The Jets don’t care about offense though.

I will mark this and await the inevitable knee-jerk militant posts when he gets canned a year from now.

This is implying that there’s someone they want that wants them that they can’t have.

They hired Glenn because he’s a former Jet who’s a total opposite to Saleh in terms of personality. More importantly, Glenn wanted the job. They’re an unwanted franchise. That goes a long way with them.

Getting someone who wants to work for Woodrow's goofy ass is half the battle :unimpressed:

Exactly!!

You have to work on the run game incessantly and that starts in Training Camp.

It's a fukkin attitude

It takes patience and commitment

You have to work on the running game and keep pounding that shyt

He's 40 coming off an Achilles :mindblown:

:what:
Bruh…you posted a gang of semantics. Smith was a bad signing and it became evident well into the season. Olu moved from RT to LT when Smith went out and gave up only 3 pressures in 4 games. Aaron stopped being timid in the pocket with him and hjs numbers got better. Olu is not a run blocker. Neither is Joe Tippman. ATC is mid as a run blocker.

You Cant “attitude” your way to being a good run blocker. Thats tv stuff. They dont push guys back. They are finesse guys but are a good foundation . The Jets need a run blocking guard and RT.

Not getting your point

New regime in NYJ.

New QB?
It's being put out there that Glenn wants to bring back Aaron Rodgers. And I like that, because now it's gonna show me who Glenn really is...

My position on Rodgers has always been that I personally don't care whether or not he's brought back, so long as the decision is left up to the coach. What I do not want is for Woody to tell the coach who takes the job to get rid of Rodgers because he doesn't want him back.

So now that it's been established Glenn wants Rodgers back: if he's not back it's because Woody me made the call and Glenn said "yes sir". At that point it would be established that Glenn is a yes man, and we're completely doomed :camby:

I get that.....but that won't stop the contrived outrage if he gets the axe

Nah

Thats why you have Offensive Line coaches

Mekhi Becton did nothing with the Jets

Nothing

He goes to the Eagles, they move him to guard and now he's mauling nikkas

Thats why you have Offensive Line coaches

He brought his goofball friend Nathaniel Hackett in here and Aaron did what Aaron wanted

Mekhi did nothing with us because he was hurt all the time. Plus he refused to move anywhere, he only wanted to play LT. That's on him :manny:

Becton was injured and it typically takes two years before someone’s knee is back to 100%. I thought the Jets were dumb in not giving him his fifth year option because I expected him to play 100% better this season and stated as such. But that point is so irrelevant to who the Jets were this year. It’s irrelevant. OLU does not have the strength to push guys back. He’s a pass blocker. Same with Joe Tippmann.

Bad enough we’ve had conversations in here saying that lineman come out of college ill equipped because they’re used to blocking in these spread offenses. But who knew all they had to do Joe on the coli that to suddenly be good run blockers is a change of attitude. :laff:

Exactly. He was hurt. Bringing him up is useless anyway because he wasn’t on the 2024 New York Jets.
