The genealogical history of Adam/Eve is explicitly laid out in great detail in the Bible. If you add the ages up from Adam to Abraham…you’re looking at the Earth being well less than 10k years old.

@levitate what if days in the Bible could stand for millions or billions of years? Like in Genesis 7 days could mean billions of years. It could be a mistranslation.

K'lal Yisraʾel
in present day, why are the jews scattered? :jbhmm: @Koichos
Because Yîsra'él is still in exile.

The second group of 14 omits the names of four Y'hûdi kings: Ahaz'yahu (#7), Yo'ash (#8) and Amatz'yahu (#9) between No. 6 & No. 7, because 'Jehoram' is 'Uzziah's great-great-grandfather, not father; and Y'hoyakîm (#17) between No. 13 & No. 14, because 'Josiah' (which ought to read #16) is 'Jeconiah's (#18) grandfather, not father.

It appears to me that the reason for Matthew's trumped-up genealogy is that, in Hebrew esoteric tradition, God performed the Works of Creation by means of His
שם בן מ״ב אותיות (His mystical 'forty-two-lettered Name'), and I suspect this motivated the author to pretend that Yushkeh was the 42nd 'generation' from Avraham Avînu.

In before the smart dumb nikka calls jesus a cac. Jesus is from the middle east fukk nikka
15.00 mark

As far as the flood thing, every group has a flood myth as well as a creation myth. As it pertains to Judeo-christians, the capricious nature of the Tigris and Eurphrates rivers as well as the Black sea led to the Noah story.

now that is fascinating :whoo:

you know not to pull a @DoubleClutch but why are the "longer" names of God considered more significant than his established name given to Moses at Sinai?

when you say Israel is in exile, are you not counting the creation of the Israeli nation-state in the middle east? :jbhmm: @Marks @010101 I gave Jahangirs shield "exile" to another character recently. Instead, he has "Alma Negra"

It's a historical fact that there was a guy named Jesus and he was religious leader of a sect of Jews and he was baptized by John the Baptist and then crucified by the Romans...on the orders of Pontius Pilate

Every historian of the Bible...agrees on that.

You can look at the work of Bart D. Ehrman, John Dominic Crosan, Joseph Hoffman, Gerd Ludeman, Michael Grant, Ed Parish Sanderes....all serious scholars of the Bible with Ph.Ds...that aren't necessarily Christians...and they all think he existed...

Here's some religious studies for you...by Bart Ehrman...one of the biggest Jesus scholars...

@MMS were you able to watch these videos? What are your thoughts on Bart Ehrman and his analysis??

@HarlemHottie have you watched those videos before? What did you think?

@MMS he doesn't dispute Jesus was a real man, he disputes his divinity. Also, he talks about the discrepancies in the Gospels. For example the crucifixion of Jesus, the 4 Gospels give a different date for the Crucifixion. Please watch the first video @MMS

Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit and the virgin mary. Take mary out of the equation for a second

the holy spirit had a son. Now please dispute the divinity so I can understand what the debate is.

Where is your proof he was born of the Holy Spirit?

He was raised from the dead :youngsabo: and buried in a place where no man had laid.

😔😔 Where is your proof of it? If I said Alexander the Great was raised from the dead you would want the evidence of it. I would have none to provide for you.

the ether
He exists with zero documentation about him till hundreds of years later :skip:

Where do you get that idea? Letters of Paul making mention of Jesus are dated to 25 years after Jesus's death, the gospels and several other New Testament letters are dated to 30-60 years after Jesus's death, the Jewish historian Josephus wrote about Jesus 60 years after his death, the Roman historian Tacitus wrote about him 85 years after his death, etc.

If you study ancient history, you'll realize those are extremely timely sources compared to what you can find for most historical figures outside of Rome or Athens itself. Do you know of a particular historian writing about Jews in Galilee in the early 1st century who should have mentioned Jesus and didn't?

@Rhakim what are your thoughts on Bart Ehrman's viewpoints? Were you able to watch those videos posted from the OP and/or read any of his books??
