That's the point. Anyone who had seen Bronson knew Hardy could pull it off so there was never as much doubt as these other casting choices.

This is all wrong. Ledger's acting ability pre-TDK is SO OVERRATED right now. What did he do in that time period that blew you away? I'd say that Eisenberg is probably held in about in the same regard right now as Ledger was pre-TDK. I mean, Ledger had Brokeback, but none of ya'll are really gonna cite that movie as evidence to his acting ability even though he put on a good performance lmao. Besides that, I'd never been overly impressed with his acting ability. I mean, he entertained me in A Knight's Tale. He was decent in The Patriot when he was younger. Post death, his "legacy" has been blown the fukk up entirely too much. There were reasons, besides his looks and him being a gay cowboy, as to why people flipped off over him being picked as the Joker.

Eisenberg had a nice little coming out party with Zombieland much like Ledger did with A Knight's Tale. Eisenberg stole the show in The Social Network much like Ledger did with Brokeback. Maybe give the kid a fukking shot. The parallels are there.

how am i overrating it?...i never said he was the best thing since sliced bread, just said he was better than this guy before he was cast as the joker...movies i dug from him: '10 things i hate about you' & 'a knight's tale'...i saw his acting in other movies, and even though i might not have liked those movies like the patriot or the shyt with halle berry, he still did a good job of showing more range than this guy.....so no, the parrells arent there with ledger...people just like to use that cause that's the one example that works when it's some off the wall casting...they sounding like al bundy and his '1 time in high school i threw 4 tds in a game' shyt...

i get it, you like this guy's acting, that's cool...i dont...he hasnt shown me anything that says he can be luthor cause he's been type casted showing qualities that have nothing to do with luthor...i'm giving him a fukking shot cause that's who they cast in the movie and i'm see the movie when released....if he kills it, that's good for them/us....but if he doesnt, that's bad for us, cause that means we'd have to wait for more sup movies and the jl movie..

aight, i got a question:

for those up on the comics: what's the new 52 lex like?...maybe that'll help explain this better....or maybe they're going with this is lex jr, and he's avenging his father kinda shyt...

For them to do the latter they would have needed to establish Lex Sr which would be retarded on their part to intro him for a movie or half of one then eliminate him...at least IMO

i agree, if they made lex sr a nemesis of sup...but if they take the approach that lex sr is dead when the movie starts, and lex jr is the only lex we know in the movie...that he inherited lexcorp and is just displaying the qualities/morals/values his dad instilled in him about humanity, it could work....basically, he'd be the lex we (comic readers) know, he'd just be called lex jr...that's the only way i can think of them pulling off having a younger lex...

And one good thing is that this should pretty much be the nail in the coffin of all those rumor/gossip sites that keep claiming they have the scoop on this movie because nobody (and I mean no-fukking-body!) had any inkling that Jessie Eisenberg was going to be cast as Lex. There weren't even any stories about him auditioning or having meetings or anything.

Yea. There were rumors of Cranston, Denzel & Joaquin Phoenix potentially playing Lex and then this comes out :snoop:

There's been multiple physical incarnations of Luthor. He used to be fat and bald, he used to be fat and a ginger, now for the last 20 year or so he's been buff. And Gene Hackman was sloppy looking as hell, looking like the Prankster & Toyman more than anything. I think Eisenberg will actually look pretty cool bald (if they even make him bald).

The only thing that really concerns me is what tweaks they are going to be doing to the character. As mentioned so much already, I can't buy this guy as the 1000% confident, supremely arrogant powerful businessman Lex Luthor that we all know. I don't see this guy taking charging of the boardroom and running a multi-billion dollar company and there's no bass or authority in this guy's voice.

Based on who they've cast, I would guess they are going to take a creep/geek route with Lex, but we'll see. I'll give 'em a shot. I was one of the people who thought Ledger was a bad choice for the Joker. :manny:
