The fifth season “Jersey Shore” returned strong Thursday night, but with a little less oompf in its fist-pump.

The show, which had the cast back in Seaside Heights, N.J., after a season in Italy, averaged 7.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen estimates.

They said it was down to salary demands.

They will just get a new cast in and do it somewhere else probably. The UK version is already doing this. MTV have Geordie Shore which has been running 3 season iirc and now they're putting out 'The Valleys' which looks like the same format just with different people in a different place.

Big Brother was 'done' years ago in the UK yet it's still going. It aint like it's costing them much to keep it running like Jersey Shore is. Like someone said, get a new cast in, pay them peanuts. If they get half the viewers they'll be happy.

I heard The Situation, Snooki, and Pauly D were making $150K an episode and wanted a raise for the next season. MTV pretty much said "fukk that" and threw that show in the bushes

Pauly made 12 Million last year.
