I think it was Carlin or someone that said it best in that Stand-Up Comedy was allowable to challenge "The Big Man" Government, Religion, Institutions and protecting the "The Common Man" from punishment.

Now obviously that isn't the case anymore, but for the Comedians who make jokes about the Individual, you end up being seeing as "The Big Man", mocking common folks and being part of the problem itself.

Seinfeld should be just lucky that his television series made a killing, else he would be just a normal comedian looking for that big break that most search for, because his material is no longer relevant.

Just because they do it doesn't make it right nor make it not problematic.

This is the basis of the problem, everything can be problematic.

Which is why a lot of shyt isn’t really funny anymore. The Boondocks was ‘problematic’ why were people so anxious for it to come back? Because there’s really nothing on tv aside from southpark that even tries to poke fun at current events (especially in the black community). It’s like the entire concept of satire went out the window

There's a difference between and something would be deemed socially unacceptable today. A lot of comedy back in the day including Senfield's did the latter in the name of "satire".

So where’s all the funny comedy today?
You tell me?

If you can't do comedy these days without having to do or say something socially acceptable, then maybe you just aren't a good comedian to begin with.

Either adapt to the changing of time and how things are now or sit and constantly bytch about how things used to be like Jerry insists on doing.

Who are some good non-controversial comedians out today?
You tell me? I don't watch TV or movies like that these days to know.

My point is that these type of arguments from old heads gets rather old because they're constantly always talking about how things used to be instead of how things are now and adapting.

I'd respect Jerry more if he acknowledged how problematic some of the rhetoric was then and the part he played in it instead of trying to whining about what he can't say and do now.

Surely you could come up with a better rebuttal than that since you seem to disregard my other points.

You’re essentially saying comedy as an art form is an outdated concept because the truth is people don’t want to laugh or poke fun of themselves anymore.

There is no such thing as good comedy without some form of self reflection and modesty.

If you don’t even watch tv what are you arguing? I’m talking as someone that has spoken about the lack of good comedy entertainment in the past decade before. This is something I’ve noticed mroe and more as time goes on.

If you aren’t paying atttention what is there to even argue?
