Friends, family, and fans have been on pins and needles awaiting Jerry "The King" Lawler's CT scan results. According to Joe Cooper, who is Lawler's best friend and business partner, the results are in.
Cooper says Lawler does not have brain damage as a result of his heart attack Monday night.
The wrestling icon has been stabilized in a Montreal hospital. Family members tell us he is heavily sedated after having heart surgery Tuesday, but he is responding to them and is even squeezing his girlfriend's hand.
While several of his loved ones have already made it across the border, others have been delayed as they try to obtain a passport.
His ex-wife and former WWE diva Stacy Carter has been keeping loyal fans updated on Facebook.
Just after 7 o'clock Tuesday, her status update revealed a concern for brain damage.
This comes after Lawler is said to have gone through an angioplasty procedure earlier Tuesday. Lawler and his girlfriend, Lauryn, were just together in Aruba. The two only returned to Memphis Sunday. Lawler had a fast turnaround flying out the next morning, the day of his heart attack, for Montreal.
His son Brian, also a pro-wrestler, has made it to Canada and is posting on his father's Facebook page.
"He was shocked a total of seven times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital," his son posted on Facebook. "Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please."
It reportedly took 15 minutes for paramedics to resuscitate the wrestler.
Lawler is a Memphis legend with a world-wide fan base. Within seconds of his heart attack, which was caught on live TV during WWE Monday night RAW, the hash tag #prayforlawler was in full force.
The world-wide concern has been overwhelming for Lawler's loved ones. The WWE update story has been liked over 12,000 times on Facebook and tweeted over 1,500 times.
