JD's definitely a product of nepotism. His dad threw him into the industry.

But he's always been one of the most talented people, that never really got the respect they deserved.

He's a really dope producer. He can basically do it all, and has a serious ear for melody and song structure. I think his problem was that he always tried to hop on trends or just straight up bite whatever the hot thing at the time was. He was getting clowned like crazy for biting Dre and Snoop when he started jacking them for his shyt with Brat and Kriss Kross. shyt like that changed how people saw him. But he should've been praised to the level of dudes like Dallas Austin back when he was popping. He had the kinda talent to do more, with much better artists. His Mariah shyt was untouchable. That's the type of shyt he should've been known for and kept doing.
