If you make a post on this subreddit about New Jack, it'll invariably be filled with people saying he's an awful person etc. But make a post about Benoit and it'll be full of people trying to excuse what he did, and yes, bringing up the fact that his brain was mush is an attempt to excuse what he did as being beyond his control. Nobody knows if what he did was beyond his control, stop fukking acting like they do.

And who the fukk do people think they are to say that they "forgive" what he did? It's not your fukking place to forgive. Nobody brings up anything like this when talking about any other horrid human beings who have called wrestling their profession, Benoit is consistently given the benefit of the doubt, and it's fukking ridiculous. When have you ever seen somebody give Alberto Del Rio the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his erratic behaviour? He's had his brain knocked around the place too. What about Abdullah The Butcher? Or Jimmy Snuka? Chris Benoit murdered his wife and child, who gives a fukk if he was a good wrestler? Why would you give a fukk? He died a scumbag, and there are many stories from well before he murdered his own flesh and blood that seem to indicate that he lived as a fukking scumbag too.

He deserves no commendation, no benefit of the doubt and no posthumous forgiveness from anybody other than those who knew him. Jericho knew him, if he wants to post something like this I think that is his prerogative, I won't hold it against him because I know that grief affects people in different ways, especially when it comes with something as totally insane as this. If this helps him sleep at night, have at it, but Chris Benoit is not the fukking victim here. There are actually people in this thread saying that "I think Benoit believed he was helping them in some weird twisted way", how the fukk can you possibly know that? Who told you that? What the fukk is wrong with you people? You're making things up to moralise a man murdering his wife and child. All he deserves to be remembered as is a vicious fukking child murderer and serially abusive husband with domestic violence allegations from years before the murders. Yeah, "He was my homeboy, and I knew him better than you" isn't a justification to honor a murderer. Jericho messed up now he has to accept the consequences, and telling people to get over it just makes him look even worse.

Just because y'all were drinking buddies doesn't change the fact that the guy was a child-murdering POS. Jericho might as well have honored George Zimmerman or a mass shooter, because that's how people that aren't deranged marks view Benoit now.

Can't say I ever cease to be amazed at how dumb Jericho can be sometimes.

We all know he has very conflicted feelings about what Benoit did, but he just can't do this. He has to keep it private because of, well, the same reason we don't see Phil Spector tributes in pop music retrospectives nowadays.

And naturally that little video of his improved and alleviated nothing whatsoever.

They were friends, what happened with Benoit no-one fully knows so it's hard to condemn a friend completely without knowing full details, from what I gather Benoit had brain damage and this contributed significantly to what happened along with some other factors, if that's the case is it really him? Was he really in control and conscious of what he was doing? Personally I don't think so, seems like he had lost his mind in a sense and just snapped. No-one sane or decent would think what was done was ok but he had CTE and was effectively mentally ill at the time, I don't think if he was functioning normally he would have done what he did at all, he never did as far as we know anything like this prior in all the years of his life, seemed like the CTE effected him deeply. Whole situation is a tragedy for everybody involved.

Was there really a pattern of erratic behavior, though? He was able to manage his finances, makes his dates and coordinate scheduling with the WWE. That event where he no showed was a cause for concern because he NEVER did that. No one has come out and mentioned any issues with remembering spots or other memory issues you'd expect with CTE. Hell, even Foley and Tommy Dreamer admit to having lapses.

People always say "oh his brain", but there was no documented pattern of behavior as a result. There rumors of abuse, but that just makes him a volatile piece of shyt like millions of others, not someone with brain damage.

The irony is that Chris is his number one defender, but has also told stories, seemingly unaware that they make Benoit out to be a dude who was a little off from day 1.

Look at the timeline. Murdered Nancy, probably in a rage. Sat on it for 24 hours before consciously choosing to murder his soon too.
