Jenny was a junkie hoe that used forrest as an emotional tampon, and occasional enforcer. She walked in and out of his life when it was convenient for her and didn't love him...Just loved what he could do for her.

Forrest brain level in regards to everything was low. He was borderline functional. His entire life was hedged on the fact that he was a good man, with a good heart, and his childlike nature and willingness to help any and everyone led to him being in the right place at the right times.

That’s why she came back. Not because she felt she deserved the love, but she loved thier child so much she knew that her son would get the love and true life that she never got or felt she deserved.
If she never had a son she would be dead in a alley and would’ve never came home, but she did so in the end she got a final few weeks of the love she never really had or felt she deserved, and her chapter is closed.
How can anyone be mad at that?

Its nothing to be “mad” at given the tragedy of her background but a spade needs to be called a spade
She didn’t do anything she did as an adult out of “love” for Forrest, she did it because it benefited HER. Hurt people hurt people. Jenny more than likely couldn’t fathom what “real love” was but she knew Forrest had great affection for her so she used that for temporary comfort at various points in their lives. Again, not blaming her due ti circumstances but to claim that only settling for a man once you’ve contracted an incurable disease and leaving him with an AIDS infested child that isn’t his is an act of “love” is insanity.
She didn’t love Forrest, she knew that Forrest cherished her so she did the best thing on behalf of her child and left him in the care of someone who would love him unconditionally despite the fact he had AIDS.
She basically left Forrest to suffer further emotional anguish when he inevitably had to bury a child next to her. There’s no way that kid was going to survive with AIDS in the 80’s.
Love benefits us brother.
Love isn't some fantasy novel where you fall in lust and live happily ever after.
Love is loving someone when they are right. Wrong. Awful and working on themselves and come back.
No one can dictate your love and how it "should" be. If Gump was real, and today he said he loved her, and Jenny said she loved him, thats all that matters. Not an outsiders attempt at justifying why that shouldn't be.
Yea, hurt people hurt people. In a made up fantasy story we saw it play out, but in real life a lot of us, including me, hurt people. Some in big ways, some in small ways, some in big ways that no one would ever know.
We all die, and we dont know when. Someone is going to have that anguish.
I feel that Gump was happier, knowing he had a son, and that the only person that actually saw him for who he was when no one else did, died happy.
We could all be so lucky my man.
