I don't disagree with your views often, Breh. This time I have a different viewpoint, though.
If I was in the same room with somebody that successful, I'd move Heaven and Hell to bend their ear.
Do you know how much game you could soak up from a guy like Jeff Bezos in just 2 minutes? With that kind of FREE info & a little bit of hustle, any one of us on here could build an empire.
True, you can learn from reading his books, videos, etc., but if Bezos is standing just a few feet from you, you can have a convo (and maybe start a relationship) that could change your life, your kid's life, etc.
:manny:
Yeah he could spit some good game but he'll also probably just give generic advice like "follow your dreams", "don't give up", etc. Who knows? :yeshrug:

That California Lifestyle ...
Say breh, humor me for a moment and explain how you would go from being a kid in that high school classroom to an amazon intern making a 100K?

Folks act as if a chance conversation, or advice from a successful person will mean instant success for yourself. Please.

You either have the drive, or ingenuity to attain greatness, or you don't. And, if you got it, you've already hit the books doing research, networking events, etc. to achieve your goals.

What's Bezos going to tell a student? Keep working hard? Hit me up after class, I'm a line up a six figure position for you? :comeon:

Unless one of those kids has a brilliant opportunity that's going to further line Bezos pockets, that man going to do what he came to do, and that's capitalize on a photo op.

:russ: nikkas on here think Jeff will just give out jobs just because you asked. If you don't got anything to give, folks with money wan nothing with you. Dude was there to take a photo with some unprivileged youth, saying how he supports black people doing coding. And then go back to his business that absolutely does very little to support stem education or make actual effort to hire nonwhite/nonasian people.

If anyone else famous showed up, they would of been there to give out money or opportunity for college.

:gucci:

Did y'all even read the article before you started bytching and moaning ? :stopitslime:

" For a lucky 100 students from underrepresented and underserved communities across the nation, Amazon will also award $10,000 scholarships for those who plan to study computer science at a four-year college or university. They will be guaranteed paid internships with the company after their freshman year. "

I agree thats its not much in the scheme of things ..but i hope those that really want it embrace the opportunity :ehh:

If 14 year old me ran into MJ (Magic or Jordan, both my personal GOATS), and he told me to "follow my dreams", that would've put the battery in my back to make the basketball team or die trying. Those 3 words from someone of Jeff Bezos's status may have been enough to spark the next Reginald F. Lewis.

You're in high school and you dont know who the richest person on Earth is, who runs the biggest online shopping site in your country?

Failed parents and lack of knowledge... sad We knew who Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Tom was when we was kids
how is knowing a billionaires name gonna benefit them? that’s not important knowledge for them to know

It just shows that these kids don't know much about the world. When I was their age I would have known who Jeff Bezos was and little background on him. I think it's valuable information.

Unless he's cutting them a check, giving them a personal internship, scholarship/grant, etc why is knowing who a billionaire cracker relevant to their lives? I knew who Bill Gates as a kid but I didn't give a fukk. Yeah I used his computers but how exactly is knowing who the richest person in the world going to have an immediate impact on my life.

Also of course kids would know who is Cardi B or some other entertainer. It's always been like that regardless of race whether it's the 80s, 70s, 50s, etc.

And you just know that even when these kids cop them certs when they get older, them Amazon data centers out in NoVA are gonna hit them with that :mjpls: when they apply. Same shyt goes for when Amazon finally gets rolling out there in Crystal City.:francis:
