@Uachet is about as deep as a puddle. He can’t expound on it without it sounding like c00n nonsense:sas2:
I see you are still pretty ignorant. Why would a person need to expound on something that was stated in perfectly clear and simple written English? Let me say it slow, since you are slow.

Do you understand when I break the sentence down like that, or is that too complex for you too?

I never said there would be ZERO guns if there was no 2nd amendment. But our society would be drastically different. You said the per capita stats proves the demand. This demand would not exist if not for the wide availability of legal guns.
Supply does not determine demand. If there was no demand, then there would be no supply. No profit seeking business will supply what is not demanded, because there would be no revenue gained from doing that. So your idea that no supply would mean no demand, is backwards.

If what you say is true why is no other country that doesn’t have a second amendment have even CLOSE to the gun issues we have here? Are you saying ONLY Americans would still have all these guns, 2nd amendment or not?
According to American Myth, the society started on rebellion against the government. One aspect of that rebellion mindset is a need for weapons. That is why the 2nd Amendment was placed in there at the beginning. So being armed and ready to defend yourself has always been a part of this country's mantra, and it will continue to be until this country falls.

A country that got its start by rebelling against another power and pushes the idea that the government of a nation should fear its citizenry not the other way around, will push for the citizenry being armed and able to protect itself.

While most nations based their start out of some divine appointment of a Leader and eventually down through time moved to less power given to said leader (more towards democracy, socialism, or something in between). the US started with the idea of the citizenry being free to choose their leaders and protect themselves when needed from a government that seeks to remove their rights. The mythology of the US is different from every other nation on Earth in that regard. Part of the mythological nature of the US is that its citizen's hold the power, and are able to maintain such power by being well armed.

So you can't look at the US like other nations, because the origin of the US (the Mythological Origins) is different. Just like the US spends more than the next 13 nations combined on the military. The US is mythologically and actually built different than other nations. That is why there is an ideology about the US of: American Exceptionalism

Huh? You're saying it's due to Americas origins that people today want guns? No everybody on the planet knows the power that comes with a gun. Whether fighting the government or your next door neighbor. If other countries had a 2nd amendment, they would have gun violence problems as well. Countless other societies came about through rebellion and nobody is ignorant of the power that comes with possessing a firearm. That's what makes us different from almost the entire rest of the world. A constitutional right to bear arms. Only two other countries on the planet have one. Mexico and Guatemala. I'm sure you have heard about the brutal gun violence in Mexico.

I probably wasn't clear on the supply/demand issue. We have a high demand because because guns are something that is actually accessible. If other countries had a 2nd amendment they would have a high demand as well. We are not unique in our human trait of the desire to kill each other. We are different because we are actually allowed to possess the weapons that help us carry that out.

Honestly I don’t think in our lifetimes we see change in gun reform in this country. I think it will take Gen Alpha being in power who will have literally grown up with this being a thing that never goes away that a change is made.

Millennials and Gen Z. Republicans do not have enough young voters to replenish their ranks. Once our generations are fully in power alot of shyt is going to fall, which is why they were so focused on stacking the Supreme Court because they know.
