East Side!
word, I run the intro back when the beat drops like 3 times, that sample is haunting. The battle would have been extended if Jay dropped this in place of Supa Ugly...would have been interesting to see what Nas would have came back with then or if the Hot 97 poll went in Jay's favor.

A Buckeye State Of Mind
ehh. That line is only potent if you believe it, which I don't.

Nas was number 5 on BET's all time list and was coming off a Platinum album at the time. No one forgot about him. Fans wouldn't had reacted :ooh::whoo::ohhh:when Jay said, "ask Nas he don't want it with Hov" if Nas was "irrelevant".
Perfect post. The only thing to add is he was coming off 2 different albums that went plat the same year. One of them went 2x plat:naswon: Had it been most rappers jay called out it wouldve received just a:ehh: But because it was NaS,it got a:damn: response because he was still poppin and didnt need saving.
lol.. its so basic and stupid sounding

"You aint no Jungle, you're a garden" now that dont sound stupid C?? lol
That line was so generic to me:heh: Only those that were born autistic were impessed by that Dr. Seuss line.
Is it Big Pimpin or Me & My Girlfriend?
Jay has just as many lines and songs that contradict each other but he calls his being versitle and branching out while his stans swallow every drop of his camel nut flavored kool aid and it's disgusting:scusthov:

No that bar wasn't stupid. U gotta be slow 2 not understand that line or either a nas Stan tryna discredit it.

Now as far as the record goes what took away from this was timing. It was too little too late at that point ether had already killed him. Now if he woulda said this shyt on takeover he woulda won the battle, the bars 2 me were better than ether he had already lost by then tho :manny:

lol.. you cant even type this without a troll laugh.. its cool Biko

Jay's angle here was mad corny..like "you shouldnt like Nas because he's a bad person because he did this" etc. Jay-Z vs Nas reminds me of a dude stepping to a chick like "whats up baby?" and the chick shutting him down then the dude being like "fukk you then bytch"
