i'm still reading decoded... it's a great book that i wish more rappers would makeas a dude who used to hate on him back in the day it took awhile for me to realize it and admit it, but dude really is one of the greatest lyricists of all time.
just the description of the lyrics and him telling you every breakdown... you find things you missed.. and more things that you never would understand, because he goes on to describe the most off the wall references of where it comes from
there's a difference between listening to a song and thinking you figured it all out.. than listening to the actual artist tell you exactly what i means and where it came from

its not lyricism unless you mention monkey rhythm or cheetahs... if you run like a cheetah thats more impressive than this whole Cosby shyt I mean, really think about breaking down a line like "I ran like a cheetah" shyts nearly impossible. I'm still catching hidden meanings in that cheetah shyt.

Peep "Thank you" off BP3 for example. Or even bits and pieces of "Do You Wanna Ride" off Kingdom Come. He can still hit you upside your head but I think for the most part he's lost that hunger. Not as sharp as he used to be but still dope.

If I really wanted to reach I'd mention that he says "superstitious" in the next line and argue he was referencing Stevie again. Especially if you think about it being dawn but shyt's as dark as its been

Classic verse….standout off one listen, you knew it was going to be great, too bad the album is so uneven, but that 'Decoded' book was pretty bad, felt so artificial, insincere, and forced like Jay talking to the suburbs about his lyrics, like they were an act on display at a 'Bonfire of The Vanities' type dinner party….

its A LOT of shyt rappers rap about that i have no clue on what they are saying cause i never lived in the area they are rapping about or never heard about it before.That does not mean they are great.
