Some of those choices for Jay
not even a big fan of him but how u not have his GOAT song and one of his top 5 songs ever on a list PSA, A Million & One Questions, Imaginary Player, Heart of the City, U Dont Know shyt on most that list too. Just some bizarre choices. Guess they wanted to reach out across eras as much as possible while giving up quality. Also wouldnt include Renegade in a battle format. Great song but he got bodied on it
Rap too different now. Its not competitive anymore so rapper VS rapper and producer VS producer wont work across eras.
There are some great producers from this era. Metro, London, Mike Will, Zaytoven, Boi-1da, Pierre, Luger etc but alot of their trap style production just wouldnt work well in a battle. Itd sound awkward much like most these nikkas on wax in a battle. I just remember that awful freestyle from Young Thug and Migos had one too

Drake got a lot of hits. But alot them shyts didn't really age well and wouldn't work in this setting imo....
His list is soft compared to the greats. And with an asterisk on his pen we can't even say the shyt he does have is born of his creative genius or not, as expected from hip-hop greats.
He's Nelly with longevity, which isn't an insult on its own merit. When you try to put his name in certain hats you get this result.
