It all depends on the demographic and if Drake can play his genre bending tracks against Jay who is a pure rapper.

The amount of hits and dope b-sides and leaked tracks that became hits Drake has is unfair.

Jay’s catalog is definitely harder and stretches back to the “golden era”.

Drake shyts become hits by default damn near. It don’t even gotta be legit dope like that. Jay’s shyt is just WAY better and more monumental imo. His catalog is pretty soft compared to someone like Jay. B Sides included.

His shyt is dope to a lot of people. People go crazy over this shyt. Care Package was old ass songs and did numbers. I didn’t even mention all the “stimulus packages” and hit features he’s been on. Drake got way too many hits for a hit battle.

Drake got a lot of stuff missed that might give him a better showing, but...

I don't think kids realize how deep Jay's catalog goes.

None of these were even on that set. :russ:

Drake isn't known for his music quality, people don't call him a "legend" because he drops timeless stuff, they say it because of chart success

With that being said he'd definitely get washed by most legends if we're talking song quality and someone like Jay who has plenty of timeless records and hits would kill him with no difficulty

This wouldn’t be a battle that makes sense to me. But even if it did, these lists are trash for the most part lol for both of em

Now that I think about it with streaming, there are several Jay Z hit songs from the 90’s and early 00’s that if they came out today would be number one on the billboard top 100:manny:

Like hard knock life is an easy example

:heh: Best I Ever Had had to be the most popular song of 2009, and wasn't a number 1 either. Come on.
