Youtube offers tv content. They've been offering TV content. Nobody buys it :russ:

I don't even think they are going to start producing their own shows idk it doesn't seem like a good fit. I could be wrong. However that shyt I said about Jay Z is 100%.:yeshrug:

I'm talking about producing their own "Breaking Bad" "House Of Cards" "Extant" "Power" ...
There's articles on their aspirations and path to profit ...look them up
Google can afford to yeild any losses as well

Jay z put out a rushed product on the premise of star power alone, with no redeeming features, hoping to cash out early and make a quick buck and yes I'm glad it failed. It was a fukking piss poor effort whose success banked heavily on taking advantage of the gullibility and low impulse-control of fans to drive revenue that would have ended up with a more expensive fragmented music streaming industry and thankfully that model lost.

Aspiro is the parent company with streaming services already established in Europe. The launch in America has nothing to do with the fact that
Europeans were already paying for better quality sound. That customer base is still there.

The service offers better sound and more revenue for artists...what's there to take advantage of ?

They tried to mass market a niche service through an event....but it aint the end of the world.

They'll figure it out....even if they don't . They still took action

As for your delight in their challenges........ smh

LOL where's that thread where people were calling nikkas c00ns for hating!!!

Everyone saw this was doomed from the start. A lazy attempt from Jay Z to use the tech market to sell out and become a billionaire. He has no idea how the tech industry works

yet nikkas on the coli do?

are you nikkas worth 100s of millions and i missed it?

its business...some things work out...some dont :manny:

you cut your losses and move on...:steviej:

Well if they do then good for them. I loved Daredevil on Netflix.

You're mistaking me for hating...I don't want the service to fail because of the service.

I want a service to fail because of it's intentions

The difference between Aspiro and the Jay-Z owned Tidal, is like you said. Aspiro's business was to offer better streaming audio quality. This is fair, I have no problem with that because a market for that does exist.

Jay Z turned it into a spotify competitor, but that's not it's market. It's product is based off of a niche market who is willing to pay the higher costs of streaming lossless quality music, but that's not the majority of people who listen to music. So it came off as just being a higher-cost alternative version to Spotify/Google Play music to most people. Which doesn't make sense from a business perspective. Why offer something for more money with no discernible differences than the established competition?

Oh lets make a half-assed commercial with a bunch of millionaire celebrities complaining how they don't get paid enough. That'll work.

Lets segment the industry to offer exclusive music videos and early release albums. That'll get em running over!

Lets not offer a free trial or freemium version, because fukk what the competition is doing to try to make a consumer-oriented business model that benefits everybody!

You see how poor planning and execution can make something easily come off as a money grab? They weren't even trying.

He did own Tidal, but obviously he was seeking financing like anyone does.

In any event, I don't know what he was thinking with trying to challenge Apple and Spotify, they have billions of dollars behind them (even 100s of billions in Apples case), patents, strongest brands of all time and all that shyt. If google couldn't do it, how the hell is Jay-z with help from Madonna and Nicki Minaj supposed to do it. If he got the 3 major labels behind him to go in as his partners then he might've had a chance but without them it's an expensive ass business.
Jay-Z mistake was using established artist, they don't own their music anyways and he knew this. Should've did this app with indy artist only. No middle men, all revenues split with the artist and Tidal. No he wouldn't make a ton of money at first but at least the business would not have been a loss leader. Hov loan me 200k and I'll show you how to do this son:takedat:

Yall really riding with this "rumor" ? Once all the other companies who came out in the media bashing Tidal and "tryin to slander your man" come out and speak on it, then I will believe it. Seem's ridiculous to jump out so early w/o developing new tactics and marketing schemes (at least throughout the year).
