It's something of a "Streets Is Watching" (soundtrack and song) for 2017, it's authentic Jay as we will see, which is how I view my favorite work from him, which is between 96-99.

This is what I said earlier in the thread when people were saying his flow is off. It's spoken word type shyt at times. And very close to the Streets Is Watching style of things. Which is why I'm fukkin with this album so much.

Yesterday I had a 7on7 game with my team (hs coach), and I was shocked to hear that they thought it was dope. I was like how did you hear it, y'all got Tidal ? They told me that the full album was being played on majority of the radio stations every other hour.

Later that night I took a shower and turned on the radio (the only time I ever listen to the radio) and Marcy Me was playing. Crazy hearing these far from commercial songs being played on the radio. This dude Jay always making power moves but this shyt made me smile for some reason.

This album alone has made my young hs players wanna go back and check Jay's old catalog. Hopefully this transcends and motivates the rap game back into actual bars, skill, and substance.

To think I have up on Jay-Z about 4 years ago I thought this shyt was just a movie and had zero anticipation and this boy drops a classic.

Most of the stuff we appreciate and think is cool, they are either ignorant to or find cringe worthy.

That's not a slight to Jay-Z..My son and all his friends are that age. He wasn't even born when The Black Album dropped. Jay is only known as Beyonce's husband to them.
