I've already played it straight through several times since last night and played it more this morning. It flows so well because there is no filler and it's cohesive feel makes it very to the point. No ID really brought it, Those samples and chops/cuts were fire and has been lacing Jay for while. This is all we really wanted from Jay. I felt like he was inching more towards this as we saw glimpses in "Kingdom Come" and on every album Jay drops 1 or 2 socially conscious, deep records. Even NaS has been on his grown man sh!t for several albums including "God's Son", "Streets Disciple", "Untitled" and "Life is Good". They don't need to "Follow the Times" or jump on gimmicks. They just need to make the music they want to make and evolve Hip Hip Further because they have nothing more to prove. I've always said it's time to have Adult Contemporary Hip Hop more in the forefront.

Hip Hop is really growing up before our eyes. This album felt like he was having a serious talk to me, man to man about what Black people need to do in the future all while opening us up to his personal life with his wife, mother, kids etc. We all know Hov is very private person. Of course he had mad sublims, he always does but on this album he really unloaded. That's the school of Hip Hop he's from. Don't address it on television or on social media but address it in the bars so only the target knows. Also I love Ye for life, but he deserved to get tapped for that concert fiasco. He needs to humble himself and take Big Brother's discipline. Also he did send several strays at the new generation "All Sounding the Same" and not having any distinction. I've criticized Jay's subject matter in the past as being repetitive sometimes but this is the album I was waiting for. It feels like a continuation of the "Blueprint" Series. BP 4:44, lol with all this soulful music. My Mans forever honoring Big too. Caught references to "Juicy", "Unbelievable" and "N!ggaz Bleed". Also this line references a rare Big track and promo poster for "Life After Death":

"Y'all Think Small, I Think Biggie."

And on a note about the flow being off.

I agree to a degree. But I noticed a while ago, maybe 2/3 years, maybe even more (around the time of Shiny Suit Theory) that Hov was doing this thing he used to save for adlibs or at the end of tracks...

He'll be on beat for about 4-6 bars, then, almost like he was trying to make a point, for 1.5 or 2 bars he'd be off, but if you read the lyrics to the off beat bars, those are the lines where it felt like he had a lot to say.

So it goes

RAP
RAP
RAP
RAP
TALK TALK TALK
RAP
RAP

Almost like he was taking a break in the middle of the verse to get his point across, then back to rapping.

It's the same thing he does at shows, where the band will play the instrumental, and he'll talk to the crowd, but instead of saving it for the end, he's trying to squeeze them into verses, so it knocks the flow off kilter.

Not making excuses for it, not even saying I'm right, just giving my perspective :russ:
Party Life from AG is probably the best example of this.

Probably just gon get Tidal.

But i heard if u dont have Sprint. U still wont get it?

Not true, think you had to have it before the album dropped . If all you had to do was dl Tidal what would be the point of it being on Spring excursive. Think about it. But its available for me....and I have Tmobile
