Nas saying the following takes on a whole different meaning now: "I wanted to get [Jay Electronica] to do the entire Untitled album, the N-word album. He had ideas." :ohhh: :troll:

On the low, this is one of the bigger scandals you can have in rap for a respected lyricist.

Bigger scandals? Nobody should wanna take credit for that wackass "Untitled" album.

I think people are looking way too much into the part they played on the album. It's like you get ideas for a 10 page essay & then you proceed to write the essay. All that person did is help you in what direction to go in, they did not write the whole essay.

I don't know what to believe anymore. :to:

The problem seems to be perspective. I don't know if these guys wrote entire songs for Nas nor do i care. I don't see what the issue it's not like Untitled is anywhere close to being Nas' best work.

There's a difference between ghostwriting, writing and collaborating.

First of all, there's some dope shyt on that album.

Second, what you think about the album is irrelevant.

My point is that Nas is a living legend because people respect his pen game. He's widely considered one of the greatest lyricist of all time.

This ain't Dre. This ain't Ye. This ain't Diddy.

This is Nas.

An allegation that he has needed "help" writing his lyrics at any point in his career is pretty serious. :damn:

I can't help but think this would be like baseball players taking PEDs AFTER they had solidified their place in the HOF. Nas was in the rap HOF after illmatic.

With that said, I'm not saying this definitively happened or didn't happen with regard to Nas getting help. I'd be curious to know what these recording sessions are actually like, though. What do these collaborations really consist of?

And that's the thing. Ghostwriting and leading the direction of a song is two totally different things.

One of the main reasons I was excited about Untitled was the fact that stic.man had his hands in it, that meant that his ideas and concepts would be penned by Nas. He gave Nas direction in some of those tracks.

Ghostwriting on the other hand is letting a guy write a song for you, and you just recite the shyt with your voice, flow and charisma.

Personally I don't think it matters if Nas had help or not. The man is a living legend and nothing will ever change that. I always assume big name artist have ghostwriters, why wouldn't they. I've seen guys on SOHH copy a rappers style so good you'd swear it came right out off the actual mcs notebook.

Like I said earlier though they really did leave those statements open to interperation. On some.........

"Sir did you kill him?"

"There's a lot of people that wanted him dead" :youngsabo:
