I like the album. Solid effort. But the over the top dramatic shyt by these dudes in here is ridiculous. nikkas in here talking about crying over lyrics and the verses made them proud to be a Black man again :russ:

And I saw it coming too. I'm at the point in my Coli membership now where I literally KNOW which albums these cats gonna overhype. I said it yesterday before the album dropped nikkas was gonna overhype it. I wanna know how you feel about it after you listen, bro.

this reminds me of the same reaction that was had when Jay dropped 4:44

And after a few weeks people were onto the next album. Then after a year, people were saying it wasnt that good in retrospect.
4:44 is still one of the best albums since it dropped

And this is not what I remember. I remember people was talking about financial literacy, people was talking about the money phone diss to Future, how personal Hov got, the videos were amazing, everyone was remixing Family Feud.

Y’all gonna revise history that it came and went now :dead:

I feel like this Jay Electronica album featuring so much Hov truly highlights the divide between "mainstream" rap and "back pack" rap. For the most part, they just don't have the same demographics and it shows based on the opinions on this album.

4:44 was an album we didn't expect from Jay so it's tough to compare it to his other stuff but it's a solid album imo, just different as far as topics he chose to speak on and they weren't all relateable as they were pretty personal to him.

This is a good album

Why are y’all trying to block the praise wtf

:dahell:

Who's trying to block the praise? :dwillhuh:

It is a definitely good album. Me personally I'm just saying it ain't "incredible" or "10/10" like alot of people are saying in here. Too many average beats on here for that lofty praise and it definitely shouldn't be making nikkas cry and proud to be Black again. nikkas always got to be over the top drama queens over artists they like and I'm just pointing it out.

Plus copied the movie quoting style from better artists

I don’t get why people shat on that album. Adam and Eve as well as Everything are classic Nas Tracks, man.
Two things, one Nas's verses sound off the beat like they were pasted in the track instead of recorded to the tracks.

Two, the rhymes were there but some of those beats like Cops Shot The Kid was weirdo shyt. Also Simple Things needed another verse.

Lol if nikkas feel like that let em feel like that :hubie:

I think it’s an album worthy of critical acclaim

I wasn’t a big fan of the production at certain points but they was certainly talking

This post is HIGHLY neggable. Not even being funny but KP dropped 2 albums in the past 6 years better than this album. If Jay Elec ever dropped anything as elite as Psychic World of Walter Reed y'all nikkas would have online convulsions.

Oh nah, they was definitely talking. The rhyming on here is top notch. But this ain't no damn classic album. Just another solid album. nikkas never do these artists any favors by doing that over the top pom pom waving they be doing on messageboards like this and social media.
