The year 3030
Genre veteran David Bruckner, who wrote and directed the “Amateur Night” segment of “V/H/S,” is in negotiations to direct the “Friday the 13th” reboot for Paramount and Platinum Dunes, TheWrap has learned.
Paramount had no comment.

Platinum Dunes principals Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing with Michael Bay.

While plot details aren't necessarily under wraps — expect a bunch of good-looking teenagers to die in grisly ways — it's unclear what approach Bruckner plans to take with the reboot, or how it will incorporate the Jason Voorhees/Camp Crystal Lake mythology.

It's also unclear whether “Friday the 13th” will employ a found-footage approach. If so, Bruckner would be a wise choice, as his “V/H/S” segment “Amateur Night” follows three guys who bring a mysterious girl back to their motel room, where terror strikes.

Bruckner previously co-wrote and co-directed the 2007 horror film “The Signal,” and he has also been working on the home invasion thriller “Intrusion” for producers Doug Davison and David Linde.

Paramount has already picked out the perfect release date for the “Friday the 13th” reboot — Friday, March 13, 2015.

Marcus Nispel (“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) directed the 2009 “Friday the 13th” reboot, which did not merit a sequel.

How the fukk else can they reboot it?

Combine 7-10?

We gonna see new Jason battle the fukk outta Carrie, hit up NY, go to hell, and in Space, all in one film.

There were rumors going around that this reboot would be a found footage movie which just sound dumb as fukk. Even dumber than the last reboot where they had Camp Crystal Lake sitting on top of an old mining shaft. Who would build a kid's camp on top of a fukking mining shaft?

I thought his bit in VHS was one of the better ones. I thought the last Jason reboot was actually not bad...not great, but not as bad as other reboots have been. That said, this is a weird combo and I REALLY wouldn't want a found footage Jason movie. I'll still end up watching it though and I just hope this guy brings something creative to the table.

Its Jason no nedd for a god damned reboot. Just find a creative way to bring him back and have him terrorize more campers. Add in some social media references and follow the simple Jason formula...

Titties
Great Kills
Funny Deaths
And.......

More fukking titties:demonic:

My major gripe with the Jason reboot was the fact that they said he got around so quickly by using the tunnels. That right there made me go into that movie with a major chip on my boulder like shoulders :snoop:

The last reboot was really good. I liked how the frat a$$hole guy was literally the same character played by the actor in the first Transformers.

i thought the last one was good too. had great kills and the usual nudity of slasher flims. i laughed at a good amount of parts in the movie as well.. people need to understand horror films don't follow the same "rules" as other films. every horror isn't going to be on the level of something like trick r treat. it's always been more of a genre of fukkery than anything.

Which VHS part did he direct exactly?

Hollywood needs newer original horror franchises. Make new icons and just let the old ones live already.
