No they didn't!

I'm watching AXS tv and Okada is wrestling Makabe for the title. (This is obviously old stuff.)

The announcer just said that Okada wrestled in TNA, and that they made him Samoa Joe's sidekick.

I shrugged, thinking that Joe approximates a strong-style so I could see the fit. But then the announcer said that TNA gave him the Kato gimmick.

Kato.

From the 1970's Green Hornet tv show.

That is a miserable gimmick. It is designed to reinforce the fact that the Asian wrestler shouldn't be taken seriously.

Gawd Damn racists.

Still watching Okada vs, the Unchained Gorilla on AXS tv.

Reverse Neckbreaker with a grapevine...over the knee. Okada is a bad dude.

Show is from June 22, 2013.

This is Japan. Tombstone's have never been over as finishes. Lariat's are iconic.

Also, lariat, not clothesline. You're in the puro world now breh gotta speak the lingo.

They fed the Japanese "John Cena" Mr. Tanahashi to "Prince Devitt" just to set up a match against Okada...damn. That's booking.

Bullett Club, dude.

Respect the Lariat.

Btw, Okada just gave his homie Gedo a title shot in order for Prince to get a shot at the World Belt.

Well, damn, son, we booking tonight?

Tombstones were a popular in Jpan set up move ever since the Dynamite Kid & Tiger mask days of the mid 80's. The lariat move is a huge set up/finisher popularized by Stan Hansen & Riki Chousu in the 80's.

Yeah from all I've seen over the years piledrivers aren't a big deal in Japan. Whereas in Mexico a regular piledriver sends you to the hospital and a tombstone sends you to the morgue :heh:
Suzuki's gotch pile driver is a well respected proly cause its of a tribute to Karl Gotch who's a god in japan and arguably helped make mma.

For real. I remember watching Abismo Negro do it and the commentators would go apeshyt.

In japan its all about lariats, chops and kicks. And exploders :ohlawd:
