Should Never Mention Me
To me Akiyama is unquestionable one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He falls into the lost generation with the NJPW guys Tenzan/Kojima/Nagata of guys who came up in the shadow of the 90s greats and never got their just due of being put over etc etc
But Akiyama is one of those rare phenoms like Brock and Angle who pretty much from the second he starts making tape is good, then shortly becomes great. The difference is he's now continually been great for 22 years and is still right now, in 2015, arguably the best wrestler on the planet and somehow, some fukking way, doesn't actually seem like he'll fall off any time soon. The man is fukking extraordinary and right now, absolutely one of a kind. He got a genuinely great match out of Mutoh in 2013 four years after the best a prime Tanahashi could get out of him was an absolute debacle. Akiyama is a hero.
