The two matches that were canceled was Desperado vs YOH and Okada & SHO vs Suzuki and I think Kanemaru. So at least two of them have tested positive for Covid. I wonder how does that effect the rest of the roster. :lupe:

And there it is

On Friday May 7, the Japanese government announced an extension to the state of emergency currently in place in Tokyo and other prefectures. In light of this announcement, as well as current COVID-19 infection status, and in order to prevent any potential further spread of the virus, New Japan Pro-Wrestling has arrived at the decision to postpone the Wrestle Grand Slam events in Yokohama Stadium and the Tokyo Dome previously scheduled for May 15 and 29 respectively.

NJPW deeply apologizes to all fans looking forward to these events for the inconvenience and disappointment caused.

New dates for both events are currently being finalized. More information will follow as soon as it becomes available.

All tickets for both events will be valid. Please retain your ticket. Any ticket holder who cannot attend at the rescheduled dates will be eligible for a refund.

At present, we ask for your understanding and patience until rescheduled dates are confirmed. Keep checking back on njpw1972.com for further information on Wrestle Grand Slam as well as other events on the NJPW schedule going forward.

And there it is

To be fair, it's entirely reasonable. :manny:

At this point The Olympics is way more worrying though. It's got to be all about the money because shyt seems to have the perfect conditions to be a petri dish of Corona fukkery, which then gets redistributed back to various parts of the world :patrice:

I think we'll have a last minute cancellation of the games. They seem pretty determined to make the event, but lack of vaccination and new, stronger strains are fukking everything up.

I do kind of have to lol at Gedo's hubris thinking he can run the Dome 4 times a year again while there's still a global pandemic going on and nature telling him to get fukked

Yeah, man. It's disappointing, because I really enjoy the summer games, but at this point, it just doesn't seem like a sensible idea right now. It's two months away, and the last report I saw was that they have all of 1.6% of their population vaccinated.

The measures they would need to take to insure there's no outbreak or risk of mutations (EVERYONE from staff to athletes needs vaccinated, no spectators, full bubble, full quarantine period before and after leaving the country, no one travelling commercial) is completely unrealistic for anyone to accomplish, let alone in two months in a country that can barely keep their citizens off lockdown.
