Even though they have low viewership, at least Impact just lets people do their thing. Although that's probably because they don't seem to be all that concerned about said low viewership.

I can see the value in being a big fish in a smaller pond, but if they're going all in on this cross promotion, I think he would do well in AEW as far as showing what he can do with character work, and in New Japan, he's going to get the chance to show out in-ring.

He's someone I can see making a good impression on a bigger audience though

The Bulldogs going into AJPW in late 1985 and the big Tiger Mask (II) vs Dynamite Kid match happens, and you know there must have been a ton of hype....and boy was it whatever. Hard to tell if it is because Misawa and Sayama were such different workers, if Dynamite was just so gassed up, or just a general lack of chemistry that is to blame.

In fact, Tiger Misawa seemed to have way better chemistry with Davey Boy in a tag match from the same tour but they wouldn't have a singles match until....1993 Champions Carnival.

Lmao this is a clear finishing sequence and instead Jumbo just does an awkward pin and Yatsu nonchalantly kicks out in a way that sure looks like Choshu just didn't want to come in break it up, so Jumbo hits a piledriver and the same thing happens but this time the ref does the clear stall for time of not counting but instead repeatedly checking that Yatsu's shoulders were down (they clearly were). Then Yatsu quickly gets up and tags Choshu in who hits Jubmo with a backdrop and then goes into the delays scorpion set up waiting for the time ro run out.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, they probably thought the time was about to run out for the draw but had more time than they thought so it led to the awkward last 2 minutes or so of seeming like they either didn't know what to do or weren't cooperating with each other.






Also lol is how Ted DiBiase in 1985 when teaming with Stan Hansen would just completely adapt his style and attitude to the point of wearing the same entrance gear and carrying a lariat around with him, swinging at fans, hair all a mess and shyt.
