It's here brehs, Big Japan's 8/10 show. Whole thing in the spoiler, will put the times of each match I found worth a look.
Yuji Okabayashi, Yuya Aoki & Hideyoshi Kamitani vs Kuma Arashi, Nasufumi Nakanoue & Ryota Hama - BJW 08/10/20
(match starts near the 36 minute mark)
Bell rings and shyt immediately gets interesting with Arashi challenging Yuji to a strike battle, which of course Okabayashi responds by getting pissed the fukk off and throwing some vicious shyt at Kuma
Arashi does great as the cocky outsider. Only bad thing about the match is that we are only shown like five minutes of the eight this lasted. It would've felt too short without the edited parts and it's even more deflating we got so little. I'm eager to watch more Arashi in Big Japan though.
Daichi Hashimoto vs Akira Hyodo - Strong Heavyweight Title match BJW 08/10/20
(match starts at the 59 minute mark aprox.)
Maaan, this had all the ingredients for Korakuen magic except the crowd
Hyodo's first big single's match, dude is 25 but only debuted 2 years ago, dude's rise in the ranks is kinda surprising, but the kid really knows how to do the stuff he's comfortable with and this match is a good example of that. Really liked Daichi as the "dominant" champ this time around, his work on the head, the strikes, his selling, all was done nicely to make Hyodo look good and to believe he had a chance at getting the upset. Damn good match, could've been special with the proper atmosphere.
Daisuke Sekimoto & Kohei Sato vs Astronauts (Takuya Nomura & Fuminori Abe) - BJW Tag Title match 08/10/20
(match starts at the 1hr28 minute mark)
This shyt was like witnessing my two kids make it
For a crowd of 300 that couldn't chant because of Covid, you ain't getting much better than this. When it comes to the in ring acting, this is not for the faint of heart, as Abe and Sato do EXACTLY the type of sick shyt they did to each other last year: shoot headbutts, full force heatbutts and a whole bunch of closed fists to the forehead
I loved how this time it felt like Astronauts were ready for the occasion, they are still the underdogs but this time around they aren't treated like the two disrespectful young kids. They are a legit threat and are treated as such, with Sekimoto and Sato chocking, striking and stretching them to gain control, but not being able to contain them. The last 10 minutes or so are vicious with a bunch of stiff striking sequences and some dope counters. It was everything I wanted it to be. If this had a red hot Korakuen it would be my MOTY easily...it didn't had that so I'll just say it was a fukking awesome match
