Where should I start in DDT universe? @Ace of the Metropolitan

Current DDT:

  • Peter Pan 2017 and Judgement 2017- The shows that actually got me invested into DDT
  • Abema Towers 2019- If you thought MITB was wild, you need to get familiar with the GAWD:wow:
  • Tokyo Joshi 1/4/2019- This is the joshi version of Wrestle Kingdom:mjlol:, hence why they do the event on the fourth of January. But on the real, godtier matches from this particular one
  • DDT Coming To America- These dudes showed the fukk out last year and fukk rona for stopping the movement for this year :camby:
Past DDT-

  • Anything with Kota and Omega in it
  • All of the bat shyt insane street fights (this is prime DDT that made folks over here like WTF:mindblown::rudy::lupe::noah::demonic::whoo::dwillhuh:
  • Try to avoid the OLDER DDT matches they uploaded. There is a reason why them jawns are all in the back of the line (while they are not bad, it's just time capsuled before they actually found an identity)
Enjoy breh:wow:. Trust, you will love every moment of this promotion from the fukkery all the way to Dieno being Dieno:dame:

This is probably the first of bumps that led to Misawa's death :mjcry:

Rookie Misawa is so weird to watch. The red gear for one, but also he's so flashy, doing backflips all the time and shyt, hadn't developed any of his signature moves, not even the elbows.

EDIT: :dead: at Terry the gawd dressed in a fukking prom outfit to be the ref for Jumbo/Bock title change

Suwama has some terrible luck. First he was the ace during one of the worst eras of AJPW, now he's the champ during one of the worst eras of everything :francis:

I wonder what the point of Terry's first retirement was since he made pretty much every AJPW tour anyway and was still taking bumps. He even made tours Dory didn't throughout 1984 :mjlol: You'd think if it was to rest up and heal his body, he'd not continue to fly back and forth to Japan for weeks at a time. You'd think he could have just asked to work less or skip a couple of tours since obviously he wasn't done done, you can tell from the first fukking tour after the retirement match that he was itching to get back to it.:mjlol:

Didn't Terry came back for the RWTL/November tour? I know cagematch has that as his return, did he work before that in 84'? :pachaha:

IIRC, Funk said he thought he was set for life and wanted to go home. Then 1 year later realized he wasn't set for life and just came back :dead: :dead:

The retirement was August 1983, and he's back in the ring for RWTL in 1984 with one or two matches in America right before the RWTL tour, but still made almost every tour in between as a second for Dory or Jumbo or special ref or presenter.

It's a shame when Jumbo finally won one of the world titles it was the one that wasn't nearly as important and his reign was bleh because it was spent defending against mid card Americans from an already mostly cleaned out AWA. Also because much of it was in the US and US/AWA work rate on top of that. The only matches of note are the ones with Bock and the match where he dropped the title to Rick Martel. Why wouldn't the NWA give him the title for a tour :francis:

Days after dropping the AWA title, he has a match with Kerry for the NWA title that's better than his entire AWA reign :francis:

Trying to blast through a bit more of the AJ Archive to cut down on gigs moved as I'm about to upgrade hard drives and don't want 400 gigs of wrestling on an external :mjlol:

The odds of getting a dogshyt 1970s piledriver and absolutely reckless deadly looking piledriver are about 50/50 in 1984. So many have those weak granny roll back kind, but there are so many where guys aren't set or slip before dropping, or the performer of the move is jumping. Baba gets this a LOT as guys can't hold him up in the proper way for a piledriver but just drop him anyway and he was basically getting hit with ganso bombs 2-3 times a tour for years :picard: Tenryu also seemed to get hit with very nasty ones regularly and in general Tenryu gets the absolute shyt beaten out of him by Brody and Hansen for YEARS. They might be stiffer on him than anyone they worked with during that time period. And he took so many bumps on his hips instead of flat back, I have no idea how he was even able to make it to the 90s without hip replacements.
