"You deserve it" chants ring out in the Tokyo Dome as Naito breaks Nakamura's records of title reigns and days total as IC champion :banderas:

:wow:

Why are literally every country's fanbases better than America's?

Because y'all are dry as fukk as fans :pachaha: y'all don't even sing your national anthem, just let 1 person sing it like it's supposed to be a studio performance :mjlol:

It has always shocked me how for all the passion and time y'all spend on entertainment and sports, y'all so boring and paint by numbers when it comes to live experiences.

Previously, here on eWN we reported that Davey Boy Smith Jr was leaving NJPW. In addition, it was reported one of the reasons for the departure was due to the denial of being allowed to work for Impact Wrestling.

Related: Reason Why Davey Boy Smith Jr Is Leaving NJPW

New details have emerged in regards to his departure. He wanted to attend the WWE HOF Ceremony and the company didn’t inform him whether or not he was booked for a show until 2 weeks prior. Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer had this to say on the situation:

”(Smith) wanted to go to the WWE Hall of Fame because they were inducting Jim Neidhart, who is part of his family, as well as Bret Hart a second time. New Japan was running MSG and he kept asking whether he’s booked on the show so he could make plans either to do the Hall of Fame or not.”

Our sports are absent of any real tribalism. Only place where the US live attendance experience is at a level comparable to the rest of the world is college football/basketball. Our major sports leagues are infinitely more corporate and not associated with their communities. Soccer teams around the world usually have their stadiums smack dab in not only the cities they play in, but even specific neighborhoods, and the clubs have a history and culture (sometimes even religious ties) that reflects the neighborhoods they're in.

Those types of things create a much more impassioned environment.

College sports are the only place in the US where you see that sort of real local and historic connection. The songs, the pageantry, rivalries, etc.

I remember when I was younger and I'd hear about US teams changing states, Simpsons did an episode about that too, and I'd be like "how can a team change states :dwillhuh: it's not the same team then surely:jbhmm:"

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't :yeshrug: Makes no sense.

For instance:

The current Baltimore Ravens were the Cleveland Browns. The current Colts were the Baltimore Colts. The current Browns are technically an expansion team, but officially, they have retained all the history in the books of the previous Browns, and even though the franchise moved to Baltimore, the Ravens officially have no history before their first season in B-More. Meanwhile, the Indy Colts have all the history in the books of the B-More Colts.
