Kento Miyahara vs Shuji Ishikawa - AJPW Triple Crown match 5/20/19
AJPW Super Power Series 2019 (2019.05.20)
Ehhh, sometimes these two do way too much and this was an example of that. Up until the Fire Thunder Driver on the apron - which an insane fukking spot, holy shyt
- this was a pretty damn good match with Shuji dominating, working the mid section and not letting Kento put anything together to mount a consistent comeback. Then the apron spot happens, Miyahara sells it like death (as he should) but then all of a sudden he's fine and starts doing a bunch of shyt at 100%, you can't say it was a "burst of adrenaline" as dude did it for minutes 
Ishikawa is able to get control again and it seems this was headed to a proper finish, buuut they keep going for like 8 more minutes so of course they go into full retard territory. Kento kicks out of way too much shyt, so much so that the struggle of the Shutdown Suplex lost meaning (you know he's gonna hit it and it looks like Kento is the one trying to NOT close his opponent's arms). I miss when this matchup was 20 minutes instead of 30

So apparently Atsushi Aoki died in a motorcycle crash after an All Japan show last night. Bike failed to take a turn in a tunnel and he hit the wall. Didn't believe it at first, but it's up on the Observer website and Chris Charlton's been translating news reports about it on Twitter.

HOLY shyt, that's horrible. I was pretty impressed by his matches in the Carnival, never thought he could be hang with the heavys.

If Aoki were 6', he'd have probably ended up as one of the best heavyweights of his generation. I was never less than impressed when I saw him work, even during his late-2000s young boy/undercard days in NOAH.
